Accessibility is a right. The Accessible Canada Act works to remove barriers in federally regulated spaces, enabling full participation. Creating a barrier-free Canada requires ongoing action from organizations and institutions.

Accessibility in the workplace can look like:

• Plain language in emails and documents
• Clear instructions and expectations
• Simple, direct wording

These practices reduce barriers for employees with cognitive disabilities and make information easier for everyone to understand.

True inclusion means everyone is valued and empowered to contribute. Accessibility is more than just physical spaces. It also includes policies, practices, and ways of working that allow everyone to participate fully. Accessible environments and inclusive practices bring us closer to that vision.

Only by working together can we build a more inclusive and equitable Canada.
