Here the result of the Escuminac Formation #paleostream!
These deposits from the Devonian of Canada offer a glimpse into a coastal fish community with some absolute bangers and historical favorites. But it doesn't come without it challenges.

100 million year old fishes that left traces just before they settled in their final rest. On display at Memory of Time in Jbeil, Lebanon
Over a million people have been displaced and over a thousand killed. If you feel powerless, remember you can support those in need here: gofund.me/91aa67767
Our work on the histology and mineralization patterns of 3 Devonian chondrichthyan taxa from Morocco is finally out now! I am very happy to share this work and hope there will be more to come about early shark tooth histology!
Thanks to all my co-authors, especially Hector Botella!

Devonion fishies Elpistostege (close relative of the famous Tiktaalik) and couple of bothriolepis swimming by. Needs updating but still thinking this is one of my better paintings I have done

A blue unopened box of Kleenex tissues with a pattern of smiling prehistoric sea creatures on it. There is also a fun fact about Dunkleosteus on the top, that it lived 358 million years ago and was as big as a great white shark.
My girlfriend found this at the store today- a tissue box with stylized #paleoart of prehistoric, pre-Mesozoic sea creatures on it! Very unexpected- features anomalocaris, tremataspis, zenaspis, and dunkleosteus.
Synchrotron CT reveals a slew of gnathostome characters in a jawless fish. Time to rethink the jawless-to-jawed transition for the umpteenth time. Also a much appreciated update to osteostracan internal anatomy.

So we’re just supposed to share our world with these psychos who can bomb & kill anywhere and anytime they want. This is supposed to be our new normal. There is so much more death to come, and we are supposed to be okay with it, or even thankful for the slaughter.
Latest Devonian sagenodontid from Morocco. Further evidence that the Carboniferous-Permian lungfish assemblage (ctenodontids, conchopomatids, sagenodontids, gnathorhizids) all originated by the Hangenberg extinction rather than a single Carboniferous diversification

Pleased to have played a small part in this paper, led by @aminff.bsky.social Amin El Fassi El Fehri, describing “A new origin of the ‘modern’ lungfish #dentition revealed by taxonomic overlap between #Devonian and #Carboniferous dipnoans” out today in @peerj.bsky.social 🦷🐟 peerj.com/articles/193...
Delighted to have the first paper of my PhD published today in @peerj.bsky.social on a wonderful lungfish tooth plate from Morocco 🐟🦷! With @draliceclement.bsky.social, @merlegreif.bsky.social, & colleagues. peerj.com/articles/193...
