These birds have orange markings on their face and chest and blue iridescent shoulders and backs, and a forked tail. The background is a patchwork of old maps, with a blue circle containing the birds.

Love maps?
My new exhibition is an exploration of map aesthetics and design, the graphic qualities that go into making and interpreting maps. This body of work is the culmination of a year spent collecting, cutting, layering, and re-imagining vintage maps and atlases.

These birds are at risk (special concern), as their numbers are in decline. Many insectivores face climate disruption and pesticides, impacting feeding patterns.
I have seen these incredible fliers a number of times, they are a joy to watch, look for them high overhead.
Two birds are in flight, seen from below. They have crescent shaped white patches on their wings and underneath their bills. These are birds that hunt insects and have large mouths. The background is a patchwork of old maps in cube shapes, there is a blue ring surrounding the birds.

Common Nighthawk
On warm summer evenings, Common Nighthawks roam the skies over treetops, grasslands, and cities. In the dim half-light, these long-winged birds fly in graceful loops, flashing white patches out past the bend of each wing as they chase insects.

New glow in the dark coin launch that I designed. Put away your debit cards and you may find one of these in your change.
Yup. Also, leaving out issues of plagiarism, etc, one relevant question for many creatives is "why introduce into my workflow a purported tool that will add friction and slow things down." If you have skills and a method that works for you, "AI" is generally a drag, not a boost. Time is precious.
Depicted is a male identified as Saga, breeding along the shores of Presqu’ile Provincial Park.
The blue ring symbolizes conservation efforts aimed at protecting vulnerable species and critical habitat.
A delicate shorebird is depicted - a piping plover which has light black bands around its neck and forehead. The bird has multiple bandings on its legs, from conservation groups that work towards protecting this endangered species. Behind the bird is a pattern of map fragments creating a circle.

Spending time in a natural setting, especially under a forest canopy, allows you to experience rejuvenating benefits to mind, body and spirit - also known as Shinrin-yoko or forest bathing. It’s simple.

Rhomboid shapes arranged into a larger six sided form. I was inspired/challenged to create hexagonal frames with black walnut.
There’s a unique design sensibility to these, a jewel-like complexity in the facets.
