Hello. I’ve written something new. Where I try to articulate the thoughts I’ve been having about the things I’ve been trying to say.

That’s why they say Parkinson’s makes the world smaller, I suppose. It chips away at your resilience and your ambitions.
Have a look at the YOPD tea break link in the blog post if you want to find a likeminded group who will listen and engage ✊
(And thanks for reading!)

Hello, I’ve not visited here in a while.
Is there still an engaged Parkinson’s / #YOPD community on BlueSky?
Looking forward to joining the first of these #YOPD teabreaks (YOPTea?!) tomorrow morning with @parkinsons.org.uk.
Details on the link below if you want to get involved or join the mailing list.
Maybe see some of you there.

Half of life with #Parkinsons is undoing the full stops from accidentally double tapping the space bar.
"I am blessed to still lead a wonderful active life filled with family and friends and work and travel and so, so much hope.
"I have #Parkinsons. But, by God, it doesn’t have me."

I'm about nine months late with this, but I just did my first PD Warrior workout. Surprisingly difficult, but definitely targeted the right areas.
Does anyone else use this program regularly?

Was a great and uplifting occasion. Thanks to you and the team for all the legwork to make it happen.
Hope you’re having a good day
On my way to Westminster for our #WorldParkinsonsDay event the Big Sing and my local station has this Quote of the Day
A pleasure to be there in person and thanks to everyone who helped to organise it. #WorldParkinsonsDay
This #WorldParkinsonsDay, we’re proud to be supporting the Movers & Shakers in presenting their ‘Parky Charter’ at Downing Street and in lending our voices at their Big Sing event 🎶. Don’t forget to sign the petition if you haven’t already and help us get to 100,000 signatures! buff.ly/iaDooff
Happy #WorldParkinsonsDay to those who participate in it.
Hope everyone on here finds some joy or comfort in it at some point.
It’s my first. Here’s what I’ll be doing and trying to figure out today.

Parkinson's, in my opinion, is the most complex disease in clinical medicine. Though it is nice to see these evidence-based reviews, we should keep our eye on the 'ball.' The ball is dynamic, and in Parkinson's will fluctuate over time, and especially with disease progression. Listen to the person.
that's amazing re the fundraising!
That's where I was going with the question - who is the day for, and why?
Is it for PWPs to come together as a reciprocal support network? Is it to highlight progress made over the past year? Is it to raise awareness and empathy?
Probably a bit of everything!
that's kind of my question as well - what is the desired outcome? What are we ultimately trying to achieve, and how can one targeted day accelerate progress towards those aims?
You're right though. Even if it's just one day in the year when everyone comes together, that's good enough!
I'm inclined to agree, Ali. My gut feeling is that these designated days don't create a year-round legacy in the vast majority of cases, but it's interesting to hear different people's opinions on here.
interesting perspective. Thanks, James.
With regard to the social media posting, what do you want this to achieve? Fully agree on the importance of citizen campaigning and citizen journalism in this modern media age.
World #Parkinsons Day - April 11 - is just over a month away.
I’m interested in how people mark it, it at all.
- What are your plans or ideas?
- Is there something you do every year?
- Does the day carry any meaning or significance to you?

Sending my first post from @surf.social! I’ve been excited to try this out and learn more about the potential of the fediverse.
(I appreciate this reads like a hacked post / as though I’m typing this at gunpoint)
