It’s still a goal of mine to help make this the most famous, well-known and UNDERSTOOD quote about cities in history.

Please share it as much as you can.

Somehow, I think it will take more than letter writing to get certain council members to listen, but you've got to start somewhere.

In memory of Donald Shoup, we re-released our 2023 interview with the brilliant, witty and influential scholar. "The High Cost of Free Parking" is a hugely important book and his research has influenced countless planners and advocates around the world. RIP.

Two year old looking down a set of steps to a driveway.

Before she turned one, she’d attended keynotes by @bronryriejones.bsky.social and @daisychristo.bsky.social. Today, at the age of two, she added a morphology workshop by #DrNathanielSwain to her list.

Hopefully, her grandparents will be in town for #ResearchEdBallarat, though🤞.

Since getting our #UrbanArrow, we’ve used our old baby seat only once to carry a child.

Instead, I regularly use it to transport things back from the op shop, like this feather cushion yesterday.

There was nothing mundane about it for these two, though.

Thanks, #BallaratTimes, for another chance to promote active transport.

We'll keep speaking out until governments adequately fund active transport and end the scourge of car dependency.

We deserve no less.

Metro train frequencies overnight on New Years Eve shows that Melbourne the infrastructure and the rolling stock to handle the all-day all-week train service a city of 5 million actually needs.

(except Upfield line where duplication would help a lot)
