they're saying it might be the first time a sprite sheet made someone tear up

A pixel art arrangement of several character sprites presented as a Sprite Sheet, particularly the kind that was prominent in the late 2000s and used by people making sprite comics. Two characters are displayed throughout, a Cian of the past, labelled as being from 2007, who is a crude recolour of Tails from Sonic Advance to be wearing a hoodie and having a third tail, and the Cian of today, from 2026, a witch-y character who's vaguely cat like but also has a void in place of a face. The sheet runs through Idle and Action Poses, with the two Cians performing similar actions. Eventually a Confrontation occurs, and the Young Cian starts attacking the Modern Cian. After a colourful explosion of magic and pixelated particles, a sunset blooms, and Reconciliation occurs between the two. The younger Cian is reserved, pulled inwards, while the modern Cian spreads out and comforts her younger self. A hand on the shoulder, a promise that things will get better. "Tu Fui, Ego Eris." An infobox is in the corner. "Sprites by WitchCian. Please ask for permission before using in a comic. Original Tails sprites ripped by Dan Sidney. No copyright intended, I own nothing. Please be kind to the self you used to be."
I found on a hard drive a sprite sheet from 2007 of my old Sonic OC. I decided to come back to it. It came back to me.

The rediscovery and success of Moon Child has been helped so much by the owners' willingness to be as open with the IP as possible, making the game super accessible and now even releasing the source code. I really hope this helps other gamedevs see this as an option.
don't worry blue stinger drops sep 9th 1999 in NA ‼️
couldn't find Megaman Legends level rips on the first page of Google so had to work with that I already had on my hard drive
For over a decade I've been wondering what this freaking font is, because I kept constantly seeing it in Japanese gaming media from the 80s and 90s. It wasn't until in recent years when I discovered that the font is called Tankoin AL-KL (淡古印 AL-KL) and it was made by Shaken (写研) in 1979.
6x8 grid of frame closeups, all but one have text saying "I Was Never Smart" on them. Original frames had two lines of text on them, saying "I Was Never Book Smart, I'm Money Smart ‼️", with the word "Book" and second line painstakingly painted over on each individual frame by yours truly
might fuck around and spend several hours manually painting out extraneous text on 40+ unique frames from the original video for a 3 second shitpost idk
wait my life is almost over?????
surprising everyone, this absolute fuckup managed to reach 30 without blanking himself
it's not piracy if a custom updater checks for 1 file and then downloads several gigabytes of copyrighted content from a self-hosted git repo used as a filedump

for #RandomGameSaturday it's the inimitable Kaze no NOTAM, aka the game that birthed a thousand Hiroshi Nagai fans based on the box art. remember when we were all obsessed with this one a couple years ago?
Because it was written from scratch in 2018-2019 and the original creator left and people that voluntarily maintain open source code release haven't touched the login part since that I guess
guy who keeps telling himself he's neurotypical: "oh yeah sometimes i get so distracted and annoyed when i notice that 1 (one) row of pixels in a 1080p video gets visibly skipped that i literally can't focus on watching the movie"
Comparison between the two states of "Use DXVA chroma upscaling" setting in madVR, left is correct and right is broken. There's a clear jump between two adjacent rows of pixels right above the man's eyes in the right image.
Exaggerated difference filter between two captures of the same frame with the setting off and on. There are three clear regions in the image - first 25% vertically are more or less black, showing that those areas are identical between the two. The area between 25% - 75% has prominent differences as a result of DXVA chroma upscaling skipping one line. That area becomes identical if you move the "proper" screenshot 1 pixel down. Then, there's a third area starting around 75% in, as that's where the second line skips occurs. Once again, moving the proper screenshot 2 pixels down from the original position makes those fully black too.
Noticed some time ago that madVR renderer had visible skipped rows when watching videos in MPC, and today got so fed up that went through every setting and found the one responsible - unchecking "Use DXVA chroma upscaling when doing native DXVA decoding" on "performance" tab fixes the issue
Original version also deserves a mention, probably listened to it more than the game version
A mockup of what a proper "Following" page of bsky could look like. To the left is the list of users that i'm following, sorted by the date and time of their latest post. One of the users is selected, and only their posts are shown on the page's right side. Above the post list are three checkboxes, allowing you to hide this user's replies, reposts, and quote posts.
others have already wrote about it (not least of all @bekoha.bsky.social) but every "social media" website *needs* to have a page like this one - an inbox showing who wrote what and when! like cohost did! if they still choose not to have it, then they're not a social media, but an outrage generator!
should have probably just played nier on either ps3 or 360 instead of struggling with replicant remake that absolutely hates my outdated pc and crashes or otherwise corrupts in new and fascinating ways or just hard hangs it every 30 minutes huh
jay eazy mega man but it just goes "i was never smart "
A screenshot from Sonic Adventure. Sonic is talking while standing on a rooftop with his arms spread wide. Subtitles, doctored, read: "Looks like Chaos has been waiting for us!", which is a quote from Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's announcement trailer.
Another screenshot from Sonic Adventure. Sonic is standing in front of a police car with its headlights lit up. Sonic is looking somewhat determined, preparing to fight. Subtitles, doctored, read: "I'm here to kill Chaos.", which is another quote from Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, much more iconic than the previous one.
I only know one thing: I want to kill Chaos. I need to. It's not a hope or a dream, it's like a hunger, a thirst.
