my latest on the future of dallas city hall after a 16-hour city council hearing. there are some reasons for optimism, but the process has been disingenuous, disorganized, rushed, and lacking in transparency.

and finally, at 2:19, motion passes 9-6. good night

one potential revelation: a move out of city hall might require supermajority vote, which is not assured.

another controversial ammendment at 12:40. no way to do business.

now a motion for an amendment to determine whether the plaza is a park. i think this is far less clear than has been suggested.

there has never been a stronger argument against the weak mayor system than this meeting.

the west ammendment is a fig leaf to at least give the appearance of die dilligence…. bit a fig leaf may be better than stark naked.

now a vote of 8-7 to reconsider bazaldua’s conflict of interest motion. smdh
