Writing can be a solitary job, but writing for children often allows me to feel like I still have colleagues. I don't get to stand in my class doorway and chat across the hall, but I get to visit faculty rooms & meet people like you, here #kidlitchat

Strong thousand pound animals forging bonds with children, taking them on adventures has such a lion-and-the-mouse dynamic that it empowers kids...especially girls... to see their strength and potential #kidlitchat

Kids & horses & wide open spaces: I love that even though I've left the classroom, teachers & librarians keep inviting me back and that I can open my self to wild lands, wild horses and the scent of sagebrush and it's "work" #kidlitchat

I took a class from Gabrielle Rico, read her book "Writing the Natural Way" and unintentionally came up with my own version of clustering. I used it all the time, sometimes scene by scene & always chapter by chapter #KidLitChat
