thanks! definitely will require more but I like how it turned out for the relatively quick effort on it

4) The Idea

It still feels lukewarm of an idea. But, enough to make me want to complete a true prototype of it.

2) Controls

Control feels is everything, even in a game that does not require precise and mechanical platforming.

3) Ambiance

Ambiance was enough to make it rate 400 for graphics, but a more concerted effort on art will be important.

1) Mechanics

For people who like puzzles, the mechanic was interesting and challenging, but complaints about not being able to see different tile layouts of different realms posed a somewhat annoying challenge.

Ecstatic to see my #gamejam do as well as it did.

Ranked 180th out of 1181 Jam entries for #ludumdare.

It's the inspiration for what I'm working on now... and I learned a ton from it for a possible #indiegame.

definitely, you will see use of buttons and switches for sure. Thanks for the feedback!

An example of smashing an NPC with a box.

In the process of figuring out how to make puzzles and make interesting gameplay without adding "direct" combat.

Refining moving block mechanics. You can now ledge climb on stacked boxes.

Good question, I suppose I won't know which style until I mock up a level background and put it together. Guess the programmer needs to do more drawing haha

HELP! Not sure which style to go with.

1) No outlines (left)
2) Environment outlines, but not char (right, left char)
3) All outlines (right, right char)

Any help and recommendations please. Which one makes the most sense?

After copious amounts of debugging, the ledge climb is now implemented.

haha, we all got our quirks! I remember thinking drawing would be nice and relaxing and realized it takes intense focus on shapes, lines, and angles. It's all hard!

My version of "greyboxing" to start prototype mechanics.

I need SOMETHING to look at to keep sane, but not spending too much time on art so I can focus on fleshing out mechanics.

Plus, it'll prob take me 5x as long as a real artist to make something of quality, lol.

Thanks! Starting to build a puzzle platformer based off my recent Ludum Dare jam where you go into "spirit realms" to access different platforms. Still in the exploration phase. (free background from someone else).

Decided to take a step back from 3D (3d assets take too much time in story-driven games).

Now working on a JRPG. After a week and a half of hard programming, finally got some haphazard barebones working.

I just spent 8 hours replacing 3 window regulators in my car. I'm confident when I say... I'm not cut out for the trades.

I'm going to stick with #development... please AI don't replace me!
