Earlier this week, @alexis-madrigal.bsky.social and I chatted on @kqedforum.bsky.social about all things Antarctica, space exploration, and micro creatures and how they tie into my new @pbs.org series LIFE UNEARTHED.

Hooray! 👏🙏
It's impolite to call Musk a genocidal white nationalist because "civility" in American discourse functions not as a neutral procedural norm but as an asymmetric weapon to shield the powerful from accurate moral characterization while policing the tone of those who object.

This looks so awesome. I can't wait to watch it!
It was wonderful to have you and @monteiro.bsky.social there! Thank you both so much for coming out ❤️
I got to see a couple episodes of this early. A terrific companion to the space stuff. I know so much more about the prairie now. Hooray Ariel and PBS.
It gets worse.
Everyone is going to tag @darthbluesky.bsky.social on this so I’ll just pile on :)
Can't wait to watch this! Despite that first photo making Ariel look like an elite assassin, the show is really all about science
Case in point, while literally sending people to the Moon and creating political propaganda over it, this is happening
Our federal science agencies are woefully underfunded and kicked down through every presidential administration in my lifetime. Even during the “better times”, budgets were kept flat and didn’t even keep pace with inflation.
A lot of “why is NASA doing this and not that?” is answered by that.
This was so good! Greatly looking forward to the rest of the eps ❤️
This is so cool! I heavily recommend checking it out! It looks and sounds amazing and was super interesting to see these forms of life up close 😍🤓
Fun update! PBS released the first episode of LIFE UNEARTHED WITH ARIEL WALDMAN on YouTube for a limited time!
Check it out here and then stream episode 2 on the PBS app (available on Apple TV, Roku, etc) next Wednesday!

Oh I know from looking but yeah I was just like “stupid inaccurate app” 🤷🏻♀️
Alert went off, I dropped under my bed; then got annoyed that nothing happened…
I didn’t feel it, so weird!
Got an alert but didn’t feel anything!

As the story points out, this decision does not restore the funding that Congress rescinded, nor does it revive the CPB. But if it held, it could make restoring funding easier in the future.
This looks so good! I can't wait to watch this!
Also, this is a good reminder that PBS does a ton of really great work (including science, art, culture documentaries) and with the loss of CPB it's well worth becoming a member).
Excited to go on KQED Forum with @alexis-madrigal.bsky.social tomorrow morning!
Grateful to @pbs.org for featuring a female-presenting naturalist! Congrats to @arielwaldman.com 🔬 Cannot wait to tune in.
