"What is a typical Forsyte?" A mess. #ForsytesPBS #TheForsytesPBS
Yes… They have changed a lot and taken a truly salad bar approach in this first series. If they circle back to all Saga stuff, especially the very dark stuff, as though they did not do so, I think it’s a real missed… opportunity, to say the least. They also haven’t marketed for it. #ForsytesPBS
June bugged me declaring Soames unlovable and speaking of Irene’s feelings. The entire family is deeply flawed and I see Soames has a role others won’t or can’t fill. That business about Irene liking Jo better from June was inappropriate too. 2002 Saga fan here, but no. #ForsytesPBS
It’s a selfish bunch, even the ones who fancy themselves the good ones. #ForsytesPBS
One thing that really struck me… Louisa initially wanted her kids away from “all of them.” She’s not wrong. The way they *all* talked about Soames and Irene at breakfast was gross. Louisa turning up with the twins on their doorstep 10 years ago would not have ended well for her. #ForsytesPBS
💯 Jo was edited and the intent of June made a stepdaughter to make him look better (and in thought process missed unfortunate connotations being sent re: bio and adopted children), but especially in the lens of 1887/1888 society, he’s not handling things fairly popping on over there. #ForsytesPBS
Soames, you’re busted. #ForsytesPBS
It’s not a hobby. Tell him, Irene. #ForsytesPBS

“Giant” is a favorite film of mine. This is a fabulous ode to Elizabeth Taylor by Taylor Swift. youtu.be/WqbJT_vC0rs?... It was done with the blessing of Elizabeth’s family as you will see at the end.
Less than $30 for the lot: 1890s Dresden cup and saucer and three forks in the Reed & Barton Renaissance pattern, patented in 1886. Lovely experience at a sale by Greater Washington Estate Services at a former ambassador’s residence in Georgetown. Best to the family.

Candlelight from two (of four) silver candlesticks (1750) reflecting on a silver sauceboat (also 1750; one of a pair) and two glass #Jacobite finger bowls engraved with roses and other flowers (c1750; each one of a pair) and a plain mirrored glass surtout de table
This family eats their young.
And, yes.
It is, but Frances and her daughter’s home is under threat. Jo’s family now knows the lack of an heir was on her side by way of his twins with Louisa. Her first husband has been erased for whatever reason, and her marriage Jo arranged. What happens to her if Jo bails? She’s scared. #ForsytesPBS
These brothers can't even be cool with each other. Trash parents. #TheForsytesPBS #ForsytesPBS
Rose-colored memories… Apparently Papa got them started at each other and they fought over a woman named Alexandra (?). #ForsytesPBS
16 on the trading floor. James declaring university a waste, afraid Soames would escape. Irene gave him a flight path, but when you have spent life caged, you hold on too tight and are easily spooked. Soames, you should have stayed in Paris. Bosinney/June are cute. #ForsytesPBS
Cover of the 1983 Penguin edition with Sir Thomas Lawrence's portrait of the Fluyder children (1806): two girls in white dressed flanking a boy in a red velvet suit with a sash. The girl on the left has her arms around the shoulders of her taller brother; the other is seated, a bit below, to the right. Backdrop of blue sky and a column.

No marks on either the cup or saucer. Old inventory tag label printed 108 on the saucer. Cup: 4 in. (10.2 cm) in diameter, with handle, 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm) in height. Saucer: 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm) in diameter.
The landscape illustration on the cup was likely inspired by a near-identical view of the museum taken from an 1830 etching by Friedrich Alexander Thiele.
Typical scrolling handle seen on such KPM "cabinet" cups during the first half of the 19th century.
Rather solidly-gilt saucer.
A porcelain ("Veduta") cup and saucer attributed to the KPM factory circa 1840, the cup with an Empire-style scrolling handle, painted with an illustrated landscape view of the Museum du Berlin (now the Altes Museum), which opened in 1830. Heavily gilt throughout, finely-painted.

Britney was more coherent and they put her in a conservatorship.
Meanwhile, the writers have Jordan out here, a strong woman, stanning the trad-wife life. Dear Frank and Current #GH Writers: everyone in the audience knows who you voted for.
1 3/4” (4.5 cm) in height, 2 5/8” (6.7 cm) diameter with handle.
The gliding was added after the blue line in a later firing, you can see that along the rim here.
Underneath the cup are interlaced Ls in underglaze blue with the date mark ff for 1783 and the painter’s mark of a scrolling m:x for Marie-Claude Sophie Xhrouet, flower painter, active 1775-1788.
A circa 1783 Sèvres small porcelain coffee cup (gobelet litron, 4th size) decorated with interlaced gilt laurel leaves surrounding two blue lines and with vertically-placed flower bud decoration along the sides. "Espresso"-sized. And it looks like spring is finally here. (see ALT)
Think what friends Soames and Jo could have been if they hadn't been pitted against each other since before they were born #TheForsytes #ForsytesPBS #MasterpiecePBS #TvSky📺
Tonight in the gazebo I saw a flash of a different relationship that could be. For all of her lamenting this episode, recalling that breakfast conversation about lighting, Ann actively egged on all of James resentments toward Jolyon Sr. I am sure the late husband did too. #ForsytesPBS
Irene acted practically. I only need look at my family tree. Loved MVP FA in the boardroom talking “skeletons” and with JO and MG. I love the flashes in JO’s Soames, i.e. that moment with his parents. This wedding night love scene was lovely. “It will be a dance.” #ForsytesPBS
I didn’t think it was real…..so I went to truth social and there it is.
