lol, I’ve been blocked too!
I would have sworn that I don’t post enough to be worth a block, but there we go. If nothing else I’m still constantly amazed at just how thin skinned these AI dorks are. Anything less than 100% adoration results in critical emotional damage.
Back in 1991 very young me didn’t know the word gulf, but I knew what golf was due to my parents being slightly obsessed with it.
So I assumed that this story on the news involved people fighting this Saddam Hussein guy with nine irons. Or it was a violent version of The Masters.
I saw the 4K Akira at my local new IMAX and it looked and sounded so amazing. You’re in for a treat!
Why was she upset seeing a film with horror elements at a horror film festival? What was she expecting?
I kinda want to double bill this with Chang Cheh’s Crippled Avengers for a double bill of the deadly disabled.
Honestly I see it. Those men should not have stood in the way of her success. 🙂↕️
*rushes to a news site to see what fresh hell has happened this time*
No such thing!
I have a lot of unironic love for Miami Connection. Not only is it genuinely entertaining, abet not in the intended way, but it was made because director/star Y.K. Kim really loved taekwondo and wanted to show its awesomeness to everyone. And I think that’s lovely.
I saw Interstellar there, that too was an experience.
I found one here in Bristol. In a planetarium to boot!

I’m currently reading the exact same story from the exact same anthology! And yes, Aickman is the master of undefinable uncanniness.
I was there, and Ryland and co put on one hell of a show for us all. He even signed my Hundreds of Beavers Blu-ray.
Also I finally see a picture of a Megascreen audience that manages to get me in it! 😆
Thanks for the clarification. Our original identification was from Google AI and I did my best afterwards to verify its accuracy with a better source. But yet again actual human expertise triumphs over artificial ‘intelligence’.
A thick growth of pale green lichen on the joint of a tree branch. It’s a mass of ruffled fronds of various sizes.
Was walking through the woods and encountered this beautiful little #lichen If we’ve identified it right it’s Parmotrema crinitum aka salted ruffle lichen.
It’s #lastfourwatched time
It’s the first week of #precodeapril so there’s a bunch of censor baiting crime thrillers. Edward G. Robinson and Kay Francis are the headliners actors this year.
Plus I caught a showing of the classic Chinese vampire movie.

Okay, so I know you are intending this to be an april fools joke but I like that reading so much I’m going to pretend it’s serious.
My toilet is leaking so I’m going to say… yes?
It’s April which means it’s #precodeapril
It’s my second time doing it, and I’ve gone almost all in on crime. Particularly crime films starring Edward G. Robinson and Kay Francis.
Thanks to @filmfan1971.bsky.social for the challenge.

From now on this is the only way I will travel.
I’m there too! I’d seen The Killer before (but this restoration looked so much better than what I had seen before), but Hard Boiled is a first time watch for me. So excited! 🔫😎🔫
I’m in the U.K. but my vpn is getting a lot of work thanks to Tubi US. I just hope that The Furious will get a U.K. theatrical release.
It’s finished and yes, the soundtrack does get rather Dies Irae during the emotional stuff.
And the film absolutely rocked. Go see it. It’s Interstellar if Interstellar knew how to smile.
I’m sat for Project right now so I’ll report back after it’s finished.
Aliens is my personal fav, but anyone who says Alien is also valid. Alien 3 was better than I remembered, changing the end of Aliens aside. Alien Resurrection is so silly and euro coded, I kinda dig it?
I’ve been watching the entire Alien series for a ranked list on my Letterboxd, and I say you are right for what you are doing.
This is the worst fucking thing I've seen all day and I have decided to share the pain.
It’s not on the list but when I was in Vienna I chanced upon the Metro Kinokulturehaus. Such a lovely little cinema with a book and boutique physical media store.
Ended up seeing two Coen Brothers films on 35mm and buying a biography of Alice Guy.
