The #BLA26 conference hashtag, and many others related to librarians and related professions and topics, are listed here. Mostly since hashtags started working properly on BlueSky in 2024, though some going back to the previous year.

Please share your impressions during the conference on social media: Bluesky and Linkedln with the hashtag #BLA26 BlueSky and LinkedIn logos.
The Business Librarians Association @blalib.org conference programme is out! And look what's at the bottom of it. This is what I love to see-it's my dream for all conference programmes to include a hashtag & to promote it in advance #BLA26 (Says she, constantly avoiding volunteering to organise...)
When I went to Tesco on my way home, I discovered a pot of whipping cream on the reduced shelves. This is something we’re always on the look out for, as it allows for the treat of making honey butter. My daughter was thrilled with it and made the butter by shaking it in a jar #AbleApril #Day20

I was bought a coffee via one of the delivery services a while ago. I was / am grateful, and enjoyed the coffee, but going to feel guilty about it forever!
Today (now yesterday - just) I have done a lot of cleaning. Including non-regular cleaning, things that I’ve been aware of for ages. Have felt very productive #AbleApril #Day19

I finished one of these books this morning, and am now being good and going straight on to the other one (ignoring all the hundreds of other books I have hanging around waiting to be read, quite a few of which I am theoretically in the middle of reading).
A snail with a brown shell moving its way up a brown tree trunk, with bark coming away. They are similar in colour and pattern.
Camouflage!
I’m a big advocate of blogging, have been finally doing it in an ongoing fashion over the last few years. Tempting to get back into more frequent posts, rather than every month or two.
Today, with both my children being out, I pottered round the house a bit, and went a run - my first post Couch to 5K (this time). Running 35 minutes, and fast at the end, really did me in, and I’ve mostly sat and read my book / watched tv since then. In need of rest #AbleApril #Day18

Yeah, that’s what I think too. Thank you.
It seems surprisingly difficult to find a plan of the corridors in a tube station!
Can anyone help? If you’re getting the Northern Line southbound via Charing Cross from Euston, is it the left tunnel or the tight tunnel after you go down the escalator? Trying to tell my son which way he will need to go. We do this kind of journey all the time, but I can’t remember which is which.
I’m now thinking about some sort of comparison of the different versions.
I am gradually listening to Anthony Trollope books. Started off with being complete attached to Timothy West, but am now finding that I get into other narrators once I get into the stories.
Ah, I see!
I might listen myself at some point then. Though will have to wait until one of my holds becomes available, as I’m already using my maximum & at the moment.
Via BorrowBox I have access to the Peter Capaldi version and a version by Clive Mantle.
It is available (well, available to play a hold on) via my access to Libby, access bought by one of The London Consortium of public libraries. Both the Ralph Cosham and the Peter Capaldi versions are.
Have your checked Libby via your local library? Could they order it if they don’t have it?
Nothing major (hence me not having gotten round to reply), but every time I see your name I think that I must reply to you!
I need to reply to your email (from two or three months ago!)
This I particularly like.
While from a different perspective, I also had this worry about offending when I share my views that are different from others. But as long as we are all polite and acceptant of other views, then debate is a good thing.
I think that there can be multiple good types of keynote. And being asked indicates people like what you have to say. I’ve definitely found talks I’ve heard from you interesting.
… And yet I do value you and others testing, for me to read about, letting me see out of my bubble that I will intentionally stay in, wishing the world had gone another way.
… the not spending lots of time testing these tools is that I have lots of other priorities to spend my time on, so don’t personally want to spend time on things I’m uncomfortable with for ethical reasons (environmental, copyrighted training data, etc) …
While I fit into some of these categories (evidence synthesis, information literacy teaching for UGs, supporting researchers - who I don’t expect to fend for themselves actually - teaching and supporting researchers is a huge part of the job)…
Today I swept all the floor in our kitchen diner (well, all that I could get to). This used to be a job for every Friday afternoon, but been hard on recent Fridays (work… chess…) && we’ve just done sections. It feels really good to have a less dusty floor. Next I need to clean it! #AbleApril #Day17

The scheduling of my Bloomberg Excel session is to force me myself to work on the plans I discuss in this blog post.
Today (and a bit yesterday) I have done lots of scheduling of central teaching for June, repeating things I ran last term, and doing a new revamped session making use of all my Bloomberg BQL learning in recent months #AbleApril #Day16
