What if cells have undiscovered methods for managing their internal logistics? Our recent work (@cathygalbraith.bsky.social, James A. Galbraith, @sciencethecat.bsky.social & myself) challenges existing views on intracellular transportation π lnkd.in/dhMDgY5Q
Congratulations and best of luck with the move!
Illustration of a fly and cellular structures connected by red and black thread-like lines inside a circle with a blue dot labeled 'TF' and text 'AlHaj Abed LAB' and 'Postdoctoral Researcher (m/w/d) Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology & Epigenetics'
Text listing tasks in AlHaj Abed lab including Hi-C and Micro-C analysis, adapting multi-way contact genomic tools for Drosophila, building visualization framework for Pore-C data, image analysis, and programming in R and/or Python
Text listing reasons to appreciate the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg including collaborative culture, core facilities, grants, scientific network, international diversity, public benefits, family support, relocation service, social life, and location, with a website link
Logo of the Max Planck Society; below text inviting to join the AlHaj Abed Lab with application deadline April 8, 2026, and a project website URL
π¨ Postdoc in 3D genome architecture β join the @jumanaaha.bsky.social lab at the MPI-IE, Freiburg (π©πͺ)
The wonderful lab of Jumana AlHaj Abed is pushing the limits of how chromosomes fold and interaction β and we need someone who can code, image, & think across scales.

Spectral multiplexing is typically limited to 4-5 channels. Our new preprint introduces a framework that utilizes DNA barcoding and signal tuning to enable robust spectral unmixing and ground-truth benchmarking to achieve 15-plex subcellular profiling without cycling

@mukherja.bsky.social work on RNAPII clusters is in print today: www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Congrats!
TLDR: RNAPII clusters represent transcriptonally engaged molecules at single genes, not super-stochiometric assemblies.
Please check it out and see the the thread below for a summary.
Congratulations. Well deserved!

Seminar announcement for Max Planck Seminar Freiburg titled 'Super-resolution imaging of chromatin in health and disease' with date, time, location, and speaker Melike Lakadamyali from University of Pennsylvania Philadelphia USA
This Friday (today), weβre pleased to welcome Melike Lakadamyali (@melikel.bsky.social) from @upenn.edu.
If you are interested in Super resolution microscopy, cytoplasmic and nuclear organization with a focus on biophysics, then do not miss Prof. Lakadamyali talk in our lecture hall at 13:00. π€
Congratulations! So well deserved!
Congratulations! Incredibly well deserved!
Melike Lakadamyali @melikel.bsky.social, JΓ©rΓ΄me Solon and Manuel Mendoza @longchrom.bsky.social share the behind the paper story of their research interrogating how chromosome compaction scales with cell size using a combination of live confocal microscopy and 3D STORM.
Thanks to @focalplane.bsky.social for the invitation to highlight our recent @biophysj.bsky.social paper! With @melikel.bsky.social and JΓ©rΓ΄me Solon, we combined super-resolution and live imaging to connect interphase chromatin organisation to mitotic chromosome compaction across cell sizes.
EMBL is deeply saddened by the passing of our Interim Director General Peer Bork, a pioneering scientist who left an indelible imprint on life science research in Europe and beyond.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
