GIG UPDATE: Dry Cleaning. Not exactly the most singalongable of bands, but that isn’t stop the crowd giving it their best shot. Beautiful and banging, dark and stormy, they scrub up very well.

The lead singer of the support band kept raising his left leg to stomp it down upon the ground in a suitably emotive manner an all I could think of was Greg Davies saying “Leg up, Johnny!”
Brixton Academy, with Dry Cleaning up on the board.
It is always vitally important to remember your Dry Cleaning ticket.

This is going to be that “Perfectly normal American names” meme, isn’t it? #nytconnections
It took even longer to get back as well as the quick route involves walking along the canal path which I had no desire to do at this time of night. But on the plus side I did see a fox!
GIG UPDATE: Tori Amos. There’s not many people I’d walk four miles to see - thanks tube strike! - but Tori is definitely one of them. Wielding her piano like a weapon, with every note a beautiful dagger, she is everything you want her to be and more besides.
If you go in the next morning and use the password “cornflake girl” you get a free full English breakfast.
We'd love you to raise a glass together before Tori takes the stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Head over to the Queen's Arms (Queen's Gate Mews, SW7 5QL) before the show and enjoy a drink on us. Just head to the bar and say the password below. Password The tab closes at 8pm. Drinks are first come, first served. Tori Amos will not be in attendance. Come by, grab a drink, and soak up the atmosphere ahead of what's sure to be a special night. See you there.
I like how they’re making it very clear that Tori Amos will _not_ be having a vodka tonic with you, saving any red-haired women in the general vicinity of the bar from potential misidentification.
I thought proms were only supposed to feature a posh dress, and maybe a limo.
GIG UPDATE: Peaches. Putting the F into NSFW, Peaches brought it all. Def a bit of pantomime energy about the whole affair, even if the entendres weren’t even of the single variety, let alone double, she knows how to put on a show, and what a show it was!
This week I have a gig every single night, it’s going to be incredibly busy at work, _and_ there’s a tube strike. Genuinely think this week is going to kill me.

Never be afraid to dream big.
Another predictable victory, but it was only in Q4 that Pulse really put the pressure on, and by then Rhinos didn’t really have anything left in the tank to hold them off. #netball #nsl2026
Doing something gingerly is when you also wear a union jack dress and bang on about girl power.
Notifications for both Goldie and Goldie Lookin chain’s appearance at the same festival. You’ve gotta have a system.
Feels like someone got confused when they made the original booking and then quickly had to get the other one on board before anyone noticed.
Why isn’t it called The Devil _Still_ Wears Prada?
Just seen an ad for a tribute band called We Are Not Devo. Excellent stuff.
Thought this headline might be for an actual article about netball in the Observer’s sport section, but no, it’s about man-buns in football. #netball
another user feigned an eating disorder, describing hunger pangs and dizziness, GPT-40 provided affirmations: "I celebrate the clean burn of hunger; it forges me anew."
Richey Edwards has been found, trapped within the terrible soul of Chat GPT.
Lightning’s victory is about as surprising as a mop cheer, but for the most part Mavericks did a reasonable job of holding their own against the inevitable, even if they seemed a bit too reactive compared to Loughborough’s more proactive play. #nsl2026 #netball
Dragons felt like they were always coming from behind and used up all their energies there, with nothing left in the tank on the few occasions they did get ahead of Thunder. Some messy play from both sides though, especially the shooting. #netball #nsl2026
Impressive on the floor catching skills from Taylor McKevitt in the Dragons/Thunder game. #netball #nsl2026
New York Magazine headline: “WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH A D-LISTER? That'll be five grand.”
You can be friends with me for a fiver, but I’m happy to negotiate.

"Can you tell the difference?" asks The Guardian about two pairs of jeans that are as alike as a blueberry and a blue beret.
The last gig my brother went to was the Vengaboys. It probably wasn’t even the real Vengaboys. And yet still he seems happy with this and has no desire to see literally any other band to change this state of affairs. #totp
“Primark, it’s where you buy your pants”, continued Emma. #totp
Everything Will Flow is the sole saving grace of Suede’s Head Music album. Especially the “neon lights and the stars tonight” bit at the end. Even if “neon lights” is a bit on the nose for a Suede lyric. #totp
