«Jon Ossoff (GA) is the only democratic senator up for reelection this year»

13 Dem Senate seats are up for re-election in Nov.

Ossoff is the only D senator running for re-election in a state tRUmp won in 2024.

(Peters in Michigan would have been the other, but he's not running for re-election.)

The new Congress elected in November won't take office until January.

But we can still hope for a political miracle--that enough Republicons will switch parties to give us the majority before then.

It's possible. Not likely, but it IS possible.

Rain, New Year's Eve
By: Maggie Smith

The rain is a broken piano, playing the same note over and over.
My five-year-old said that.
Already she knows loving the world means loving the wobbles
you can't shim, the creaks you can't oil silent-the jerry-rigged parts,
MacGyvered with twine and chewing gum.
Let me love the cold rain's plinking.
Let me love the world the way I love
my young son, not only when he cups my face in his sticky hands, but when, roughhousing, he accidentally splits my lip.
Let me love the world like a mother.
Let me be tender when it lets me down.
Let me listen to the rain's one note and hear a beginner's song.

I need you all to remember ICE is still destroying families and assaulting people daily.
Don't forget to keep protesting.

All ICE cares about is meeting quota.

<<tapping into the wants and needs that people didn't realize they had>>

it's not "answering people's needs" to create products people DON'T need, and then hoodwink folks into believing they MUST HAVE them

that's just "fashion" marketing

if not hucksterism

it helps to give him extra views on YT and share his videos with others!

Someone gave me a hard time for suggesting this yesterday

I still think it's a great idea

Give him extra views on YouTube. That definitely matters!

i don't understand bluesky people who pretend to be on the left but absolutely hate poor people and complain about people asking for money. hating beggars is actually just standard reactionary stuff. it's weird to know about systemic economic inequality and still be doing that.

We had one of those!!!

No liquor cabinet, though.

the record player was on the left side and the right side had the radio, but the storage space underneath was not used for liquor

No… Tucker,

you are not welcome, forgiven, excused, or given the benefit of the doubt.

You laughed on TV while children suffered and you did it for years, because the money was good.

You can rot.

Blue-black Grosbeak

This is a chunky, dark songbird found in the humid lowlands of Central and South America, known for its deep blue-black male plumage and rich dark brown female, both with stout bills. A member of the cardinal family, it skulks in lush vegetation.

flipping through a proof of yet another book from a somewhat well known liberal voice diagnosing “where the left went wrong” and i’m struck, again, by the fact that a large part (if not most) of the liberal commentariat simply does not believe that the political right has agency.

Trump pressured Republican states to rig their electoral maps, because he saw a midterm disaster coming for his party. He knows they will lose big without rigged districts. Virginia can level the playing field and stop his newest scam tomorrow by voting YES for fair election maps. #VoteYesVirginia

no need to apologize-there's a lot of misinformation out there.

You also don't need to be an expert--even the slanted google algorithms will give you the same answer ☮️

I understand why Republicons do it, but so many folks who claim to be on our side have been repeating it without thinking or checking.

It's one of the biggest Rcon propaganda successes of the last 15 years

All we can do is keep pushing back... 💙

There are fewer than a dozen trans people in professional sports. But there are 62 million straight men visiting a “How To Rape” website. Guess which group conservatives are worried about.😢
