Do love an early evening stood under one of the Parakeet Gathering Trees. They meet here before collectively deciding to fly over to the roost tree.

What would Heathrow third runway mean for pollution, emissions and noise? As UK chancellor backs expansion at London’s biggest airport, we assess the possible environmental impacts

Interesting response to Heathrow third runway from Dale Vince: "This is the old economy, it grew 0.1% last year while the green one grew 9%." And good analysis by my colleague Damian Carrington here:

Possibly the largest tree in the Amazon... Over 60m crown diameter! Maybe a Bertholletia excelsa (the Brazil nut tree) tree 🌳

Like Ikea furniture, mass timber buildings are assembled out of prefabricated pieces. The Origine condo in Quebec City went up an estimated 25 percent faster than a conventional building.

The building sector, are responsible for ~ 39% of emissions globally. Are wooden/mass timber buildings part of the solution?

I love transporting trees on public transport.

It’s good to move this fig to its new home without using a car & also lovely watching people’s intrigued & amused reactions to seeing something incongruously natural & alive in a public space normally denuded of nature.

I’m delighted that so many slow worms are living under a dustbin lid in our tiny city centre garden (photo taken at the end of summer) . So pleased that there are enough invertebrates around to keep them fed and thriving! #wildgarden #urbannature #slowworm
