"The vast accumulations of knowledge—or at least of information—deposited by the nineteenth century have been responsible for an equally vast ignorance. When there is so much to be known, when there are so many fields of knowledge in which the same words are used with different meanings, when every one knows a little about a great many things, it becomes increasingly difficult for anyone to know whether he knows what he is talking about or not. And when we do not know, or when we do not know enough, we tend always to substitute emotions for thoughts."

A reminder that T. S. Eliot had the problems of today figured out 103 years ago in his essay and poetry collection "The Sacred Wood."

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok?

Day 6 of the #20DayBookChallenge and this one I specifically remember reading in Yr 7 for English and loved at the time. I may need to re-read at some point. It's "Buddy" by Nigel Hinton.

Day 5 and this one came at a perfect time in my life and I'm thankful I read it. It's "Notes on a Nervous Planet" by Matt Haig

(This won't be the only one I'll mention during this thread)

Day 4 and it's got to be "Cirque Du Freak" by Darren Shan.

One of the first books I ever took out of my school library.

Day 2 of the challenge, let's go with "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak.

Quite possibly the best book I have ever read.

Hi Bsky! I'll hop on a trend of books that have influenced you, I'll see how many I can remember to do over 20 days but first off we'll start with "The Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. A man who I relate to mostly towards his attitude to deadlines
