That is so frikkin' COOL.
A photo of a late 90s beige PC with a tv and a PS1 Net Yaroze next to it
From a Sony ECTS 1997 promo pack that we also managed to get our mitts on last year: a lovely hi-res (for the time!) .eps image of a full Net Yaroze setup.
Net Yaroze... Those charcoal PSX's are so cool. I have one of the pads but not the console yet - still on the bucket list!
Browsing this company's website and the only way I can describe what I'm seeing is imagine a school shooter was a management consultant
To celebrate hitting 14,000 followers on Bluesky, I'm... gonna shake my tip jars on Ko-Fi and Paypal below, because work's been slow this month and I've got a house move coming up at the end of April...
But I'll be also posting a big thread of cool games with under 100 Steam reviews! LET'S GOOOOOO!

Itβs absolutely incredible that one of the largest Japanese-run Go servers, which has been running since 1992, is still accessed entirely via Telnet. And while most players use GUI clients that use Telnet under the hood, you can still connect manually and get ASCII graphics streamed to you

well, they were correct about that
Some concern on this headline
Notably, we never had any others after that
Alas, no.
Please, it's been 30 years, I need to get past 1996 and I can't, I'm trapped.
I can only hear BREATHE so many times

The Blaze spell: 2D vs. 3D π₯
Showing Blaze Lv1 in Shining Force 2 (Genesis/Mega Drive) and Blaze Lv1 in Shining Force 3 (Saturn).

"we've had brexit" yeah about that, one of the binding promises made was that the only way for Scotland to have EU membership was to stay and then we got pulled out in spite of overwhelmingly voting to stay in brexit.
And it wasn't "once in history" it was "once in a generation" and one has passed

THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (1999)
character in green has just walked down a set of stairs. another character in green is greeting them (good morning wanker! you woke up late this morning) at the bottom of the stairs, in a room with a cupboard, a book shelf and tables. greenery and trees surround the building.

Been wiring a few more scenes in Saga decompilation. There is so much hardcoded logic in something like this.
Still, I'm often impressed at the tricks they used to make this work on a Saturn. The vdp2 water distortion here works pretty well.

Now taking off in 1993: The Sega Mega Jet.
A handheld Mega Drive variant, this was initially used by Japan Airlines and would be rented out to play on small LED TVs embedded in armrests.
It's been reported that a lot of the Mega Jets in private hands come from a shipment hijacked by sea pirates. π΄ββ οΈ
