βWhispers of Natureβ First International Haiku Contest 2026 Haiku Association of Sri Lanka Honourable Mention beach day babyβ s first prints return to sea TrΓ© β USA Ravi Kiran's commentary: The crux of this haiku is the second line. Different babies take differently to their first visit to a beach. Some get very excited and others get petrified. Once the feeling settles, babies instinctively explore and are amazed at how they can leave footprints in the wet sands. The last line captures the cyclic nature of life.
Happy International #Haiku #Poetry Day!
