cool! what is the signaling wave shown here?

Happy to share the viewpoint article on recent work by
@jackbinysh @ASouslov @CorentinCoulais about interplay between percolation and oddity in robotic metamaterials!
Happening in 20 mins. We have open positions related to the project, if interested feel free to DM
PhD student Ouyang Xuan is going to present our work using representation learning to map developmental flow in morphological landscape: Mon Mar 16 3:30pm 'Morphogenesis' @apsdsoft.bsky.social @aps-dbio.bsky.social
Check it out! #APSGlobalSummit2026
Looking forward to first day of APS! Going to talk about odd robotic matter and information processing at "Emerging Active Matter" session summit.aps.org/events/MAR-B... Mon Mar 16 12-3pm, @apsdsoft.bsky.social @aps-dbio.bsky.social @aps-dsnp.bsky.social
Huge kudos to all the amazing members in the lab for making this happen! And a great collaboration with Nick Boechler, Nick Gravish and Hongbo Zhao #UCSD
Further particle-level chiral and polar symmetry breaking leads to emergent states including phase separation and active translation
We show how tuning a single control parameter allows us to access an odd elastic solid, an odd viscous fluid, and a chiral inertial active gas
Inspired by earlier work on living chiral crystal www.nature.com/articles/d41..., we built a "robo-embryo" with controllable symmetry breaking at particle level
By unifying physics and robotics, we provide a blueprint for treating robotic swarms as programmable states of matter. A new testbed for nonequilibrium physics! #Robotics #Physics #ActiveMatter
Are robotic swarms the next state of matter? Excited to share the very first preprint from the lab! "Three phases of odd robotic matter" arxiv.org/abs/2603.09897
Looking forward to @apsphysics.bsky.social March Meeting next week at Denver to share the lab's ongoing work on emergent dynamics & learning in odd robotic matter + manifold learning in morphogenesis.
