I made this second account for a technical, English-speaking focus, but being on sabbatical and the tough Twitter→BlueSky move, I left it unused. The issue is that my main one is more personal, less technical, and mostly in Italian.
on’t get me wrong; I never had the slightest intention of becoming an “influencer,” even if I could (and honestly, I couldn’t, for many reasons). It’s just that I like to compartmentalize; that’s how my mind works best. I liked having a personal account and a separate work-related one.
It’s not just about language, but content. On former Twitter, my Italian account was for goofing off, nerdy takes, and thoughts on the language. The English one was mainly for tech—context-driven more than anything. Keeping things separate just made sense (some followed both).
I’d use this account more often if the Bluesky mobile app didn’t make switching profiles such a hassle. I already struggle to keep up with my other Italian account.
relieving and gratifying to see this ship in all three engines after kicking off the effort years ago.
@igalia.com stepped into an area new to them and did an incredible job getting all the parties aligned and keeping things moving amidst major differences, and sticking it out until the very end.

I may be biased, but I believe the decline of modern society began when slot machine halls started replacing arcades.
Lilo & Stitch is one of Disney's best movies. It was meant to be a risk -- a "smaller, gutsier film."
Even its art direction was risky, down to its revival of watercolor backgrounds at Disney. We explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-shape-...

Find a cool product on Amazon? That company exists OFF Amazon, too. 1) Google company name. 2) Order from their site. 2a) Can usually find a 10% code! 3) Still get product in 2-8 days. 4) Company avoids losing 25% margin share to Amazon. 5) You avoid giving money to Bezos.

Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.
Happiness comes from what you bring to the world, not what you take.

Can someone put us in touch with the creator of “Alfsky” to talk about if we can use / print their work? #atdesign

The FDA has apparently raided a company that sells poppers.
A reminder that RFK Jr. believes the anti-LGBT conspiracy theory that poppers cause AIDS.

I wonder if shopping bags from retail chains that went bankrupt years ago have any value for collectors.

So jealous of the Open Kai Fang…! I mean, I have no idea what that is, but the business card is so cool.
Still thinking that the new Mozilla logo looks like an 8-bit Super Mario castle flag, though.

Popular meme format, grandma labeled with "bluesky's public launch was one year ago today." Younger person helping her labeled with "sure grandma let's get you to bed."
happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been!
with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.
Sometimes, to know who you will be, you just need to remember who you have been.
