#tc39 first class protocols proposal is fascinating.

very rust-y, traits like. really getting back to what made js so so damned good, return to a powerful complex prototypal inheritance.

seemingly a ton of momentum/contributirs. new to me but instant fast follow.

Baked a remote MCP server for TC39 proposals 🤓

Use `tc39-mcp.deno.dev/mcp` to connect to the server.

P.S: This is not a official remote MCP server from TC39 (yet) ;)

Demo is via mcphost.link

I feel like the currently-proposed TC39 Observables lacking some value that can be supplied upon "completion" is a mistake.

Getting information about the status of #TC39 proposals is a horrible process: As a developer, I want to know how far along the "Pattern matching" feature is.

So I google "TC39 Pattern Matching". First result is this GitHub repo: https://github.com/tc39/proposal-pattern-matching It says in the […]

Every so often I get an email notification from some starred bug report about TC39 decorators, and I peek at what's going on, and it seems like the current situation is that it's fully standardized but all 3 browsers went "This is complicated and we don't feel like implementing it" 😞 […]

The discussion highlighted stalled TC39 proposals for a native JS pipe operator. Community interest for a standard, readable solution persists, indicating a genuine need this clever but unconventional approach attempts to fill. #TC39 6/6

How Do Committees Fail To Invent? - Infrequently Noted Alex Russell on browsers, standards, and the process of progress.

Several times over the course of my career, specific companies have gummed up the works in web standards, leaving it to everyone else to figure that out they weren't on board with the web continuing to progress. It's bad, and we should learn to spot it:

I kinda wish #javascript had an #EmptyCoalescingOperator now that I’m used to `??`

Wouldn't it be nice to do static imports in JS?

`values(groupBy(strs, sort))`

instead of

`Object.values(Object.groupBy(strs, sort))`

I'm gonna settle it once and for all:

the tc39 should adopt the F# style for pipeline operator.

No questions asked.

#javascript #TC39 🤬🤬🤬 Bitten again by *&%^** getters and setters on the prototype! Why does the language not at least have a function to create a plain object that is a snapshot of current properties and getters anywhere on the prototype chain? `Object.flatten()` or `Object.snapshot()`?
