Finally got around to turning off the sleep score on my Apple Watch, as I don’t need a notification to tell me I feel like shit and should go to bed earlier.

Pencil portrait of a young woman with long hair and glasses

Drawing from one of the @drawonline.bsky.social portrait sitting sessions - while my blue sky updates are infrequent I have been practicing drawing regularly. this drawing wasn’t quite what I expected - almost like the pencil drawings of footballers 😄

A snail on the steps behind the library

We have no cats today but say hello to the library car park snail. 🐌

We think he was on his way to borrow a book but he's not arrived yet.

This is grim & dangerous over reach.

This is a government that have lost the moral argument & are still selling arms to Israel. Now further cracking down on dissent.

Absolutely the opposite of what they should be doing - so of course this is what the Labour Government choose.

Yesterday was a warm, bright day, so I took advantage of the light for a little bit of watercolour around town

usually if you ask experts why an empire fell they’ll say it’s nuanced and multifaceted, so i think it’s kind of cool that with America future historians will get to just say like “oh they took the idiot train to moronsville”

A trading card featuring an illustration of TOS-era Leonard McCoy. The card has been put into a clear card sleeve, which has a border on it made of stickers. The stickers are all cutesy and blue, mostly hearts, stars, bows, and flowers.

This is a very tough day for trans people – with a long legal road ahead to right this wrong | Robin Moira White The supreme court judgment is contradictory and confused. And there seems no prospect of the Labour government sorting this out, says discrimination barrister Robin Moira White

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... weird how this piece didn’t get on the front page of the guardian, who must think that we have tofu for brains and don’t notice them platforming bigoted opinions

I forgot to post for ages, but I’ve been busy taking photos, painting watercolours, and drawing nude people. I’m not going to use the alt text, I’ll just let you work out which is which

1: Helena skips happily between some parked cars, announcing „Today on my way to school, I will point out to you … ALL THE CATS IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD!“
2: A big picture illustration of several cats.
AROMAT (A reddish cat, hissing or maybe throwing up) „Always surprised by your presence, never please. Ate a bee that one summer“
HEINRICH (A sad looking calico) „The saddest cat I’ve ever met. they told me he just looks that way… but I can tell…“
REINA (A white cat, lying on the floor very arrogantly) „Loves the sun, loves the attention, hates being touched“
KAFKA (A black cat with a white underside, with angry red eyes) „Watches you from the thicket. According to Mom, she’s the reason there’s no chiff-chaffs left on our street“
LE PARFAIT (A red cat almost shaped like a sausage, looking away) „Real name unknown. Spends his time meowing at doors where noone’s home. Very elusive, despite its shape“
3: A row of cats all sitting on a wall are watching Helena suspiciously as she skips by. „Each is totally unique, yet they’ve a thing in common“.
4: Skipping down the road, Helena yells „They can’t stand me!“ as the cats hiss at her in unison.

If you take dynamic ads for a podcast, there's now a standardised "IAB code" block form you fill in, to say you don't want certain sorts of ads. It's INSANELY long. So many categories. Individual *pets*.

You can't choose to say no to ads for:
Crypto
Gen AI
NFTs
Tech grifts etc

Tech bros. Oh well.

I don’t know why I am continually signing in with Apple Music. Every time there’s one of those embeds to play Apple Music I have to sign in again.

I agreed to help cook for one of our visiting lecturers, so I did a huge bowl of dhal. I sat at the back of the lecture and drew everyone who came. The lecture was by samiahenni.com who was a great speaker, taking about nuclear testing and its effects (spoilers: effects not good)
