Explaining my insanity... Author’s notes: "ok listen, you see all this?" "just delulu coincidence? (yes it is. so let me explain)" This is not a ‘fixed it for you’ comic but rather an ‘adds my take-’ comic where I’ve grabbed existing hetero normative scenes (in some cases aged poorly) and I’ve re-distributed the narrative power into an updated context of my choosing. Because my personal flavor for fan creativity is not the “fix it”-approach but the “look I took this toxic thing and made a new road with it”-type of story. With above factors in mind, this comic is a retelling of my canon-based timeline of KSU: - Year 2255 - Kirk gets beaten at the bar in Iowa -> Kirk enters Starfleet Academy - Year 2257 - Spock and Uhura starts dating, -> a.k.a. Kirk unofficially touches Spock’s mind boobs here *cough* - Year 2258 - Kirk cheats on Spock’s Kobayashi test with Uhura being there on the spot -> Three ends up on the Enterprise together - Year 2259 - Kirk dies and comes back -> a.k.a Spock’s maybe I do love him too, I should get together era *cough* - Year 2263 - Beyond movie onwards -> entering their 30’s together As you can see; this is such a hot mess of a lineup of events with how their impressionable moments of meeting each other are so entangled.

For Spock and Uhura’s first mind-meld, I always had plans for this narrative role reversal experience being their first time. I knew drawing this would be the best way to visually represent any type of misoginistic-fan service irony that happens within the AOS verse with the most fruitful fujoshi delulu entertainment. (Since there’s also that scene with Uhura stripping and Kirk being under Gaila’s bed- but I had to choose my battles here because I can’t draw the whole movie like this forgive me) For Kirk I always think he needs to have a healthy dose of toxic yaoi in his veins to feel comfortable about his love for Spock. I think he gets off on the feeling that he’s corrupting Spock a little, like telling himself that he’s making Spock cheat on this girlfriend even though their sharing of Spock is purely consensual for forever. Bones would have pointed this out, Uhura would have laughed and they both said whatever makes you happy. There’s a lot of yapping I could do because I just couldn’t draw every silly detail points in there; but I personally think Spock would have loved peeking into Uhura’s head space for those moments when and where she sassed back/was mean to Kirk- (which would be the source of Uhura’s embarrassment in my comic.) Since I do think AOS Spirk are both meant to share their toxic yaoi love, seeing your girlfriend occasionally beat your boyfriend with Terran words and attitude that you aren’t capable of by yourself sounds like a great time imho.

Welcome to my 20+ pages of show and tell where it’s just a full KSU propaganda short story but made with love and care! This is actually a special copy because only my Bottom Spock Week subscribers are getting it for the time being. Public release will be sometime later in October (12th is when the Korean fanbook print goes live for a short while, so free English version reveal will be after that) First of all I am sorry there hasn’t been a lot of updates throughout June-August. My passion for the project still exists but it’s just that I’ve been very mentally unstable to put my drawings, myself out there because of past family matters are bubbling from inside. So my creative output hasn’t been ideal.
