How is your AI changing your thinking?
@zoew.bsky.social, founder of @exante.bsky.social, explains how AI chatbots have become an echo chamber of one, and why that gives companies unprecedented influence over how we think.

@bmann.ca are the talks going to be posted online beyond just the livestream?
Apropos of nothing, the current #atmosphereconf talk about Resonant Tech and its manifesto

makes me also think of another manifesto

Private: In the era of AI, whoever controls the context holds the power. While data often involves multiple stakeholders, people must serve as primary stewards of their own context, determining how it's used. Dedicated: Software should work exclusively for you, ensuring contextual integrity where data use aligns with your expectations. You must be able to trust there are no hidden agendas or conflicting interests. Plural: No single entity should control the digital spaces we inhabit. Healthy ecosystems require distributed power, interoperability, and meaningful choice for participants. Adaptable: Software should be open-ended, able to meet the specific, context-dependent needs of each person who uses it. Prosocial: Technology should enable connection and coordination, helping us become better neighbors, collaborators, and stewards of shared spaces, both online and off.
The 5 principles of resonant computing, suggested as a starting place:
* Private
* Dedicated
* Plural
* Adaptable
* Prosocial

Looking sharp!
well that was a great day of talks and energy at the #atmosphereconf... the passion and excitement was there from everybody, except for @toni.bsky.team who was reluctant and underwhelming.
Today, we’re excited to introduce Attie, currently as an invite-only closed beta. Attie is the first agentic social app on atproto. It’s something completely new — an experiment in making building on the protocol more accessible.
In anticipation of the #atmosphereconf I decided to experiment with bridging and what it'd be like if @divine.video users were valid bluesky users so you could follow and interact on the aprotocol in addition to Nostr, and now i've got a prototype: @rabble.divine.video
No, the verdict in the ‘social media addiction’ lawsuit was not a win against big tech, it creates a legal precedent for mass surveillance, censorship, the total destruction of the open web.
Go to badinternetbills.com and fight these laws!! 👈👈👈
NEW PROJECT FROM ME for #AtmosphereConf remote viewers!

Reminder: there’s no such thing as *your* data on the social web. Everything we’re told we own is actually someone else’s too: your posts, their likes. your likes, their posts. your posts, their comments. Your comments, their posts. It’s all relational.
“Own your data” was always a misnomer at best
“These are censorship laws. There is a chilling effect in having the threat of litigation. So even though these cases have been dismissed, even though the plaintiffs have failed to appeal, these platforms still have to deal with likely hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees.”
that was my assumption too!

Banning kids from social media does not work! It harms kids and prevents real solutions that addresses the harms of social media. It's like abstinence only sex education.

Because straight propaganda kept everyone straight so well. :))))
Last night I shot this divine and today I woke up to check it and am so pleased when features like content warnings for flashing lights works! You can make it not show filters or always hide, too.
Banning kids from social media doesn’t work.
Dr. Pamela Wisniewski joins @rabble.nz in this segment from a previous convo to discuss:
🧒 Why banning teens can push them into riskier spaces
🔒 Why anonymity is critical for kids seeking help
💬 What DMs reveal about peer support

Yeah that’s what I’ve setup for testing
Funny how the expansion of anti-trans bills are now being followed by bills to keep all kids off the internet and social media....
