Yesterday, the crew of the ISS called the crew of #Artemis2 and had a short conversation in between their busy schedules of research and documentation (I promise, to a scientist, that's more fun than it sounds!)

This was the first ship-to-ship communications ever to take place in space. #NASA

A very British tradition this - the right to see a big cat, in the dark, on a cold winter's evening, not take a photograph, and claim it was an escaped jaguar is a firm right for all Godfearing Englishmen. It's probably in Magna Carta or something.

A land art installation by Jon Foreman on Druidstone Beach in Wales, showing a carefully arranged gradient of black stones on wet sand, transitioning from large rocks to tiny pebbles in a flowing, organic pattern. In the background, a tall coastal cliff with a narrow waterfall cascades down toward the shoreline, while the artist crouches nearby placing the final stones. The composition blends natural textures, scale, and precision, highlighting Foreman’s signature style of using found materials to create temporary geometric forms shaped by the landscape.

As a child of Apollo now watching current day MSM cover today’s efforts the differences are startling.
Factual scientific coverage from professionals has been replaced with superficial DRAMA from deep voiced slow talking ghouls who want an emergency.
Bring back scientists and professionals.👇

A clip that makes my stomach drop to my bum every time I see it: everyman daredevil John Noakes climbs to the top of Nelson's Column in a 1977 BLUE PETER episode. File under 'health and safety gone mad!'. Pity the poor cameramen too...

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen – in the centre of the image – peers out the window of the Orion spacecraft on day 3 of NASA's Artemis II mission. The controls over the commander and pilot seats are illuminated in the foreground, but the cabin is otherwise dark to avoid unnecessary glares on the windows.

Mistletoe balls in the bare branches of a tree alongside the Evesham Road.

One thing I've noticed about Stratford-upon-Avon walking around this winter is that we have an awful lot of mistletoe on trees all over the town. Way more than other places I frequent.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

Ministers explore triggering break clause in Palantir’s NHS contract Government is under pressure to eject the controversial American company from NHS England data systems

That UK government ever considers asserting its contractual rights against a major supplier is rare and welcome.

And here, this is especially welcome.

This will not be easy but it can be done, but it is good it is being seriously considered at all.

50 years ago today, cameras started rolling on Star Wars.

At that moment, no one could have imagined that this was a turning point for pop culture and for all of our lives. A journey to a galaxy far, far away that changed everything forever.

Drawn by artist Howard Lee. Pure nostalgia as reminds me of my childhood when we spent hours playing in the dene. One particular tree that we sat under or swung out from.

Had to speed it up a little.

(The pumpkin was a little too much - we didn’t have them, it was turnip’s for lanterns for us).
