Allium Leaf Miner. It’s that time of year when the females start laying eggs. First sign is a row of dots on the leaves of your plants. I always take these off and destroy them. A real problem of a pest that’s spreading rapidly across the UK.

It was an old puncture repair. Even though it wasn’t bubbling in water I took off the patch and replaced it and it’s stayed up so far. I’m still looking to replace with a solid tyre though there’s just too many thorns down at the plot.

I find the odd bits from clay pipes on my plot and loads of pottery but our site has never been built on and was just fields before looking at old maps so wonder if at some point soil was brought in from elsewhere that had all these bits in.

Sorting out the edges on the bean bed that are rotten now. I wasn’t prepared for several miles of couch grass roots in that one little trench alone so has taken up some time. The new boards are plastic so I’ll get a good few years out of them but they are a real pain to cut to size.

I had same on first plot back breaking pulling it out and then having to get rid of it.
Finally got around to burning the hedge cuttings on the plot. I’ve took a couple of feet off the hedge so quite a lot to burn but once it got going it only took an hour or so to reduce it to a pile of embers.
No idea how I labelled the pics as adult content I can’t find out how to remove it so here are the pics again.
Few bits off the #allotment today. #leeks are on last legs might get one more harvest after being flattened by snow a month or so ago. Signs of root fly in the #carrots as well but hopefully cut out the bad parts and leave enough to use.
Windy at the allotments today storm Eowyn trying to take this plot holders tunnel away. My plots ok so far though hope everyone else is doing ok.
