A partial transcript of a conversation between Stan Lee, Will Eisner, Gil Kane, John Goldwater, and others from 1971, sourced from The Comics Journal: https://www.tcj.com/our-publisher-responds/

Stan Lee:
“I would say that the comic book market is the worst market that there is on the face of the earth for creative talent, and the reasons are numberless and legion. I have had many talented people ask me how to get into the comic book business. If they were talented enough, the first answer I would give them is, why would you want to get into the comic book business? Because even if you succeed, even if you reach what might be considered the pinnacle of success in comics, you will be less successful, less secure, and less effective than if you are just an average practitioner of your art in television, radio, movies, or what have you. It is a business in which the creator, as was mentioned before, owns nothing of his creation. The publisher owns it… … Unfortunately, in the comic field, the artist, the writer, and the editor, if you will, are the most helpless people in the world.”

By the way, Stan Lee once said this back in 1971.

An old picture of my character Loge who is a tall bulky woman with a square jaw, lots of piercings and metal teeth ? grills? Couldn't tell you. She is wearing a metal cuirasse over red cloth wraps leaving her shoulder bears, revealing the tattoos on them. Her legs are covered by the bottom half of a buff coat as well as white and blue striped pants, and she is wearing matching long leather boots and gloves. Her fingers are covered in metal rings for extra punching.

A more recent digital sketch of the same character following roughly the same design cues as before but she is now holding a Maori patu as a weapon. Her clothes while following the same composition hve a slightly more sensical design, with the buff coat having a top part although it is still sleeveless and the wraps instead being a wide sash going over the cuirasse, as was the fashion at the time (not even joking).

I don't feel inspired by the rest of the list for repostyourart so I'm just gonna repost my art without prompt. I just had the "I should call her" equivalent that artists get looking at a wip, this redraw of a character of mine from I believe 2014.

If you wonder why the "Quiet Posters" feed doesn't work for you anymore, it is because the @why.bsky.team subscribed to an anti-anti-ai block list, rendering it useless for over 300 000 users. Good job bsky team!!

Artwork of Juri Han from Street Fighter 6. She is a brutal South Korean taekwondo martial artist who derives pleasure from inflicting pain on others.
Juri wears a tiny, sleeveless, cropped top in white with pink trim. Juri's bangs have a blunt style to a slanted cut that covers her left eye and usually styles her dark hair into two horns on top of her head,
which appear to be held in place with pink ribbons.

Celebrating the One Rabbit Year

2026 is the year of One Rabbit [Ce Tochtli] according to the Aztec calendar. The deities celebrating this year are collectively called Centzon Totochtin, or “countless [400] rabbits.” They are gods of pulque (octli), drunkenness, and fertility.

Meme with a photo of a fountain drink machine with a cup sitting under two nozzles (red and blue), a hand pushing both buttons at once and liquid coming from both nozzles. The blue (left) drink is labelled "grateful for the insight I have gained from all my experiences" and the red (right) drink is labelled "still thinks some of that sh*t should not have happened". The hand is labelled "me".

I decided to remake this illustration in colour pencils and acrylic markers. I mixed up Massai, Zulu and New Guinean influences, to create a fantasy character. #art #tribal #warrior #featherheaddress #shield #spear #grassland #handdrawn

When thing no work, remember to support you favorite little platforms :) I don't think newgrounds or cara will ever be huge, but they'll stay up and pro-user as long as there is a core audience who sees their services as worth chipping in a couple bucks for.
