Some people thrive on having something or someone to poutrage about (see what I did there?). When fewer people are available to satisfy their need to fill that void, it makes sense that they likely seek it out elsewhere. Opposing opinions are welcome. But some people are just assholes.

The nuance, of course, is in how that difference of opinion is expressed. One does not need to be a provocative asshole to express a differing perspective. It doesn't take much effort to be respectful ;)
It's incredible how many people think that "free speech" only applies to speech they agree with. Its importance, however, is that it also protects speech you disagree with. Living in an echo chamber isn't good for anyone.
Also, the 1st applies to gov't restricting speech, not private entities.
