Elon Musk has pledged to settle Mars. This book offers a reality check | CNN In “A City on Mars,” Kelly and Zach Weinersmith investigate what life would be like for humans on the red planet, arguing that Elon Musk’s dream is doomed to fail.

Perhaps instead of always looking for fault or the negative in something, it would be a more productive approach for traditional media to accentuate the positive. SpaceX is taking space exploration to new levels versus expensive joy rides. www.cnn.com/2024/11/21/s...

Some people thrive on having something or someone to poutrage about (see what I did there?). When fewer people are available to satisfy their need to fill that void, it makes sense that they likely seek it out elsewhere. Opposing opinions are welcome. But some people are just assholes.

The nuance, of course, is in how that difference of opinion is expressed. One does not need to be a provocative asshole to express a differing perspective. It doesn't take much effort to be respectful ;)

It's incredible how many people think that "free speech" only applies to speech they agree with. Its importance, however, is that it also protects speech you disagree with. Living in an echo chamber isn't good for anyone.

Also, the 1st applies to gov't restricting speech, not private entities.

How dare you act like a grown up and not engage those who act like petulent toddlers. The shame Mr. Cuban, the shame.

Company affiliated with Alex Jones seeks to disqualify The Onion's auction bid on Infowars A federal bankruptcy judge in Texas is being asked to disqualify a winning bid made by the satirical news outlet The Onion to buy conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' Infowars.

I see Alex Jones is poutraging over @theonion.com's acquisition of his Infowars assets. The irony of the satirical Onion's acquisition of a platform for conspiracy theories sold as truth is not lost on anyone. @asssociatedpress.bsky.social has it here: apnews.com/article/alex...
