The film was advertised widely throughout the Netherlands around the same time the beloved child icon arrived for his yearly gift-giving. The poster frightened tons of kids and there was a court case trying to have them removed.

Ace marketing.

The posters were allowed to stay put.

I should add the movie was made before they made changes to the holiday, officially replacing the (admittedly racist and in bad taste) 'black pete' version of Sint's helpers to the ash-smudged helpers today. Just a FYI. The movie did *not* age well in that regard.

You might have seen it pass by at some pitch events 😄 new ideas kept popping up and I think most of my concepts tend to have a dark thread of sorts. A regicide jester whose mind is breaking, a roadkill fairy, dystopian future where a happy death is commercialized... And more.

When I got older I began enjoying some comedy with my horror: Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Evil Dead, Shaun of the Dead, Cabin in the Woods, Rennfield, etc.

I began writing books. Not even horror, at first, because I also love scifi and fantasy! But then the concept for DAD BODIES hit me.(2/3)
