Women are credited less in science than men - Nature The difference between the number of men and women listed as authors on scientific papers and inventors on patents is at least partly attributable to unacknowledged contributions by women scientists.

On #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience let me remind you that we are NOWHERE NEAR parity. A few examples.

1. Women are credited less in science than men.

Book cover artist was Hildebrandt vs author/editor of the book (Coville.) It looks a lot like the LOTR art by the Hildebrandt brothers, gorgeous rich color and light.

Today's tea is also an Assam and Keemun blend from my seldom used le creuset kettle on the gas stovetop because the power went out. Snow day shenanigans.

My "dignity, safety, and well-being" has never been threatened by providing human rights, respect, equality, and inclusion to all humans, including trans women. Those things have been threatened for years by conservative politics, religious conservatism, misogynists, and bigos. That's today's tea.

I feel like we're living in The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade. And maybe we thought we were the visitors there to see the play, but really we're the inmates.

Thinking of Baba Yaga and her capacity for wisdom or wreckage, but always her own strength, as I get ready to craft some treasure necklace strands for her. Haven't decided yet which tea will go with that, maybe something smoky and earthy? What would you recommend?

Hard to say. I still drink black tea daily, but I really love oolong and fresher sheng pu erh. The comfort element of drinking a mug of black tea is definitely stronger though!

Not a direct answer, but did you steep with boiling water for 10+ minutes? I've found herbal blends to need a longer steep time and I'm a bit generous with how much I put in the pot/brewing basket.

Crimson Lotus Tea. Super nice people, super good tea. I like my sheng to be fresh and astringent and sweet vs highly fermented, So their Wild Sky is a current favorite.

You might also like Mariage Freres, from Paris. Marco Polo is a best-seller but Black Opera is very flavorful and fragrant.

Depends what flavors you like, how you are brewing it, and what style of tea you prefer. +1 on the H&S Paris suggestion someone made. If you like strong flavors and cinnamon, Market Spice Tea would be a winner. Take a look at @fridaytea.com - she just got a bagging machine for bagged tes vs loose.

Is it a genmaicha with matcha in it, or a matcha with ground toasted rice? Either way, green tea and toasted rice are so satisfying together.

For National Hot Tea Day (US) I'm enjoying a massive quantity of black tea in a new dragon scale tea mug I received as a gift. It holds so much tea. I love it. #tea #handmadepottery
