I should probably talk book stuff every now and then, huh? Alrighty, then. Thread time!
First off, if you've ever read any of my stuff, THANK you. There is literally more content in the world than anyone could ever consume in multiple lifetimes, so if you've done so with my work, you're royalty.

Now I want to get some hot pockets, but maybe I should boycott them instead
Indie books are like fish. Sometimes you’ve just got to load them in the barrel and shoot them out into the world.

Dog and Human: Prisoner's Dilemma Human inhaled deeply from their cigarette. They stood in the back garden, getting some fresh air. Dog and Cat were in the kitchen screaming at each other. Again. Always tit for tat. Human wanted to quit smoking. It would be the death of them. But the alternative to quitting felt like it would be jumping off a bridge. Plunging down into the cold, dark, empty water. So it goes. Human tossed the cigarette into the flower bed and stamped it out. They pulled another from their pocket and sparked it to life, inhaling deeply.
It’s Microfiction Monday! This week, I return to the world of Dog and Human, where Human battles their dark thoughts.

The Fall Is All There Is
For Indie April, I’m sharing a few of my favorite indie reads. Next up: The Fall Is All There Is by @cmcaplanwrites.bsky.social
This book is wild, violent, deeply inventive, and exploding with vibrant characters. One of my all time favorites.
Now onto the intel, which does answer many of our questions.
Stats shared by @draft2digital.bsky.social on the private Zoom call:
In 2025, new titles ⬆️ 50% from ~2.3m ISBNs to >4m (excl. Amazon only titles w/no ISBN)
D2D already declines ~70% of titles uploaded to their platform per month.

OK #indieauthors, new intel on @draft2digital.bsky.social's changes just dropped thanks to @kevinmc.bsky.social who posted his notes from a private Zoom call with the D2D CEO in the 20booksto50k FB group ~4 hours ago.

👇 short version + my take 🧵1/?
Oh yeah, absolutely. It ends on a somewhat hopeful note, but the cost is high for the characters who are part of the retellings for our entertainment
It definitely worked
Were these based on existing versions of Batman, or completely new takes on the characters?
This is great. During the first turn, I was so drawn in that I forgot to look for the reference. But then it only gets better from there. This is a really intriguing approach to the story.
