Day 20 of making safe room horror music daily until Halloween 🎵💀

Last Train

The station is deserted.
Too late! The last train has just left, leaving behind only a sharp, shrill screech.
Suddenly, at the end of the platform,
I see a motionless figure watching me.

Windows 9k5 - a desktop of a fake Y2K looking OS, based on Windows 95 color palette. The opened notepad window says:

"microsoft lays off 9000 workers
9000 lives thrown into turmoil

families having to scramble while phil is still getting his bonus and satya is getting even more

the spreadsheets show that all this brings value to the shareholders, the investors, the important people

and spreadsheets never lie, do they?"

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

9- Expect rejection. It’s healthy. Especially as a beginner. Listen to feedback. If people don’t give feedback, ask for it. As a beginner, you don’t know what you don’t know. You have two choices. Either embrace that, and start to learn what you don’t know, or fight against it.

9 things I've learned over 16 years for securing 3D freelance work:
1- Everyone talks about portfolio but people rarely credit spec work.

Most of my new early clients came from spec work. Think of it as an investment. Every investment is a gamble... 🧵

Exotic Animal Photo Reference Repository

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references.

Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.
