A sheet with tipps and tricks on how to draw people standing in a natural contrapposto pose with one leg carrying the weight and the other one relaxing.

Time for some #FundamentalsFriday material! I started this year's anatomy course with my students and put together a lil sheet to make the contrapposto easier to grasp. For me, it took a long time to click because nobody ever told me where to put the weight bearing foot when I was in school 🙃

It's time for another #FundamentalsFriday and while checking the tag, I realized I never shared this handy practice sheet of face planes from different angles I regularly use in my classes. It's especially helpful to study how perspective changes the proportions of the face ✨

Painting Demo: Chain Mail
Painting Demo: Chain Mail YouTube video by daarken

#FundamentalsFriday has become a bit scarce, first because of my workload, rn because I wrecked my shoulder and needed surgery, but since I just saw people talking about chainmail, I thought why not share one of the oldest tutorials around that still works great: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJL-...

Another belated #FundamentalsFriday post, sorry everyone! Back to plane construction, this time I took a few screenshots of the mouth and surrounding planes. It's not that much, but getting the form of the lips wrapping around the face right is key to nailing different perspectives of the head 🔥

It's #FundamentalsFriday! For today I collected a couple of statue heads from pinterest for you to study human faces in a bit more detail than just the planes but also poignant values. If the colors are too tricky, convert the pics into greyscale, and as always, start rough and get detailed later ✨

Also today is #FundamentalsFriday! These are some very basic geometric objects to study, but they're great to practice smooth transitions and hard edges if you're not used to doing those. The polygon lasso tool and large - larger! - soft brushes are your friends here 🤝

I remembered about #fundamentalsfriday just before going to bed, last Friday. I actually sat down to do these then, and forgot to post them because I needed sleep😂 I feel like I could have pushed the shape design and simplification more.

For today's #FundamentalsFriday, let's do a 2 value study! Take one of these screenshots and try to recreate it in a new canvas of the same size, using only two distinct values with hard edges in order to see how light and shadow shape the readibility of the whole shot 👀✨
