One of the great things about this game is the fact that we can change things or make up new stuff.
I made a stat block for little birds when I did a whole month of bird-related content creation a few years ago.

Sometimes I make up something for D&D that directly uses something else I already made.
Tonight, I used a fungus that I made up a week ago to create a useful piece of nonmagical equipment for underground adventures.

Today is day 10 of Cave-pril over on my Patreon (a month of daily, underground-related D&D 5e homebrew creations).
Just now, members got a type of fungus to add to their games called the glass mushroom.
I make all sorts of things to help bring your imaginary worlds to life.

In the games I run, the 4 players and I have chosen a hybrid dice/array method: each player rolls 4d6 drop lowest once (DM rolls twice), those 6 results become the array the whole group uses to make PCs for that campaign.
Dice get rolled and all the PCs start on equal stat footing.
It's nice to hear that NWN is still going strong.
100% of the credit for this goes to members of the community who continue to play the game, who create new content and adventures for it, who host and DM their own worlds, and who make the game far more than it was designed to be.
Looks to me like you may have room for an unofficial D&D book or three (or one 3x sized book) if you keep playing Shelf Tetris. :)
I watched M&M a while back just to have another cultural reference somewhere in mind.
It was certainly...an hour and a half of my time. I did use it to inspire a new D&D spell.
I didn't start playing D&D until the late 80s, and luckily wasn't affected by the satanic panic. The cartoon was fun. :)
TTRPG-adjascent: When I took on too much with Neverwinter Nights at once (CEP, monthly challenges, .info site, new content making, my own PW) for too long, I burned out badly (2016).
After returning to TTRPG content creation in 2017, I've purposefully paced myself to avoid experiencing that again.
Today, I made up a new wintry D&D 5e undead monster inspired by three words I was given at a convention: puppeteer, mist, and winter.
It's available for free for anyone to use in their games.

You should treat yourself to this giant book packed with D&D 5e stuff.
Your gaming group, significant others, parental figures, and friends will all agree you deserve to have it.

Today is day 4 of Cave-pril (a month of daily, underground-themed homebrew creations). It's also the day my youngest two offspring turned 16.

It's #WIPWednesday for #ttrpg folks, so let's see what you've got in the works.
Tell everyone about your unfinished creation, share your favorite part of a thing you're currently making, or give people a glimpse of something you've just started to create.

Today is the start of a month of daily, underground-related D&D homebrew creations (that I'm calling Cave-pril).
Some things I make do become free after a month, but many more remain patreon member-only content. Now's a great time to join.

It's April 1st, a day to be skeptical of what people tell you or show you.
It's the inspiration behind the creation of a D&D spell that curses a target with extreme skepticism for an entire day.

Do you have a podcast or stream where you talk about D&D and other tabletop rpgs? Do you like to have guests to talk about anything even remotely related to the hobby?
I'm available, and I like to talk. ๐
Longtime player, DM, creator, and now 3rd party D&D publisher/author/illustrator.
Robins near my house are smart. If I dig up anything in my yard and expose some dirt, one or more will show up within a minute of me walking away to look for worms, grubs and anything else edible that may have been uncovered.
Physical books.
Holding a physical book makes something more real in mind, and I tend to remember things better if it wasn't on a computer (or worse, phone) screen.
I've been a D&D person for decades, and physical books have always been part of tabletop gaming for me.

This is one of the great things about actual RPG books: You can pass them on to other people to enjoy if you ever tire of a game or if you want to get new people into the hobby.
Congrats on your find. ๐
I decided I wanted to make a ninja subclass for D&D 5e, but I didn't want to go the obvious route of making it for monk.
Gave them some martial arts, movement, and using darkness for attacks/defense features.

One of the PCs found a magical circlet in a safe in her parents' house...and the group stole it. Later, that PC wore it and pretended to be royalty.
Her father turned out to be a prince that her mother had under mind control, so the PC really was a royal without knowing.
Landlords everywhere celebrate Rent.
My ideas/to-do list for D&D homebrew content has tons of stuff on it, even after writing a 592-page book.
Today, I pulled an idea from the list to make a rope-based spell, a melee/ranged cantrip, which is available now for Patreon members.

It wasn't often that the fighter would give up her turn as the biggest damage dealer, but it did come in handy when the cleric or bard were out of spells or otherwise occupied.
Fighter in the D&D group got caught by a death curse trap that was going to kill them after a few days as a black mark spread over their body.
Got the curse broken in time and was left with what looked like a snake tattoo on one hand...which could be used 1/day to cast cure wounds on someone else.
Day 1 of #MankatoCon is coming to an end soon. Looking forward to Day 2.
If you're in the area and want to check out my book in person and talk D&D, you can find me at my table in the main hall.

I've been playing and DMing for 35 years and 3 editions (AD&D 2nd, 3e, 5e).
5e is my favorite, as it works great for my play style (I'm now an improv DM). It's what I run, and what I write & publish new game content for.
2012 screenshot from Neverwinter Nights (2002) showing remade 3d models and inventory icons for weapons
14 years ago, I remade every single weapon model and matching inventory icon for Neverwinter Nights (then a 12-year old game). I called it Project Reforged.
I had taught myself 3d modeling so I could make new stuff that didn't exist in NWN.
There may be some people still using them.
