...then on from Borkum, nicely modelled by Orbx and easy to explore in Avatar mode. The Airvan heads east along the coast to Harle, not a scheduled IRL route but served from Emden by OFD. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek

OFD- Ostfriesischer Flugdienst, formerly OLT, operate island-hopping flights off the north German coast (Waddensee), using BN Islanders, Tecnam2006s and a single GA8 Airvan, used here. First we fly from Emden to Borkum...

First outing in the newly released #MSFS2024 version of the Kodiak100 by SWS, flying from Hawarden to BBD's Peterborough Conington. Didn't spot too much "new" in this first flight apart from walk-around and MS EFB. #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
Our final leg in this Victorian adventure takes the Aerovan from Great Lakes to Mount Hotham. Climb needed was pushing the piston engine to its limit, only 400fpm if the airspeed was not to drop into stall territory! Cruise speed was under 100knots throughout. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
The next leg in the Gipps Aerovan is from Latrobe eastwards to Great Lakes on the Victoria coast. I don't know this part of the world at all and the scenery was very attractive, ideal for a (very) slow and low flight. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
This first flight is from Melbourne Essendon to Latrobe Valley in Victoria, home of Gipps and where Aerovan production is based. I used it as an OnAir flight, which for the first time seemed to go smoothly. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
I spotted that SWS have a 50% off sale at present, so I picked up their Gipps GA8 Aerovan, an Australian built small aerial "ute". It's good fun, a bit like a Kodiak 100 but much cheaper running costs. Just don't use it if you are in a hurry to get somewhere! #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
I moved a passenger from left to right side to correct a L/R weight imbalance, causing OnAir to throw a wobbly & abort flight tracking so, because I didn't spot this had happened for a while, I lost the chance to resume and lost the remuneration for the flight. I'm thinking - OnAir? Too much hassle!
On the day the #MSFS2024 native version of the Kodiak 100 is released by SWS, here's a last hurrah for the 2020 version, flying from Hawarden to Lille on an OnAir mission taking some Airbus parts that the Beluga forgot! #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
Andy & Matrin from the Airliners Live YT channel flew this fictional Aegean A320 sector between the Greek Islands of Corfu and Skiathos yesterday in their office sim, so I decided to "fly along" for the return leg departing over the Skiathos spotters. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
OnAir also assesses and marks all aspects of your flying, so like having an examiner on board; so far it seems quite pernickety! #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
I'm looking at OnAir, which is a commercial career manager for #MSFS2024 and #XP12, more in depth (and rather more reliable!) than Career Mode. I've a 7-day free trial, and my first flight is sightseeing from Chester to Lancaster and back (via Blackpool and Liverpool) in a Sky Courier 408.
A couple of weeks ago, the first E195F Cargo flight in Europe started, from Cologne-Bonn to Larnaca (Cyprus), operated by Bridges. Having solved some WASM crashes in the eJet by using the FSS AIRAC updater (separate from Navigraph), I was ready to recreate the flight. #MSFS2024 #FlightSim #Aviation
...I hadn't realised the B350 as depicted has a Garmin G3X touch, a very limited avionics suite designed for VFR flying- no transponder, engine parameters or flight plan procedures. High time Asobo gave it some love, or change it to a more authentic Collins Proline.
Probably a "courageous" decision to use KingAir 350 in #MSFS2024 on a very gusty day for a flight from Blackpool to Humberside as the default Asobo model has, it seems, some serious shortcomings... #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
I still need to get more familiar with it, as it has its quirks, so expect a couple more flights in the near future.
With Contrail announcing that an #MSFS2024 version of this aircraft is in development, I shall be interested to see how it flies & how the two versions compare. #FlightSim #Aviation
Some years ago I purchased the Dassault Falcon 50ex for XPlane11 (Carenado). Unfortunately they chose not to update it for #XP12; I have just realised that community fixes have now solved several major bugs, so took it for a short spin from Luton to Caen. It looks great! #FlightSim #Aviation #AVGeek
Pleased to say that the small glitches that I experienced in the first flight of the updated FFX HJet seem to have been ironed out, as this flight from Toussus-le-Noble to Manchester was very smooth and straightforward, and well handled by SayIntentionsAI #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
At last I have a chance to try out the latest update to the Piaggio P180 Avanti from Flight FX with a flight from the Piaggio base at Genoa, Italy, to Tossus-le-Noble near Paris. In short, it's even better than the old version, which was very good- and fun! #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
Jet2 B737-800 (PMDG) flight from Tenerife to Leeds-Bradford. After 4+ hours of trouble-free flight, we had a CTD over Wales ๐ง, but I was able to recover the descent and final approach using FSiPanel ๐. Final approach to Rw32 is over Headingley Cricket ground. #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
Back to the UK in the Diamond DA42 by COWS, heading for Rochester departing from Lelystad (NL). The second part of the flight is from Bruges, across the English Channel, passing the White Cliffs of Dover, Canterbury Cathedral & landing at Rochester (BBD). #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
Returning from virtual Lelystad in the Diamond DA42 by COWS, exploring en route some more of the city update for Netherlands and Belgium released yesterday by Microsoft. This first part takes us from Lelystad via Eindhoven and Antwerp. #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
It's the Blackshape BK-160 Gabriel, model for #MSFS by Flying Fries. orbxdirect.com/product/flyi... Rather fun to fly and great visibility from the cockpit for scenic flights.
Cabin โ๏ธ Fuselage โ๏ธ Wings โ๏ธ Engines โ๏ธ Landing Gear โ๏ธ
It looks like this #Fokker is ready to land at last! (test flight from EHLE-EHAM crashed to desktop yesterday and then wouldn't reload properly) Parked near its younger cousin on the roof terrace #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek #Retro
The aircraft loaded successfully the first time, which means it should have been added to the local cache, unless as a result of the Crash to Desktop, none of that cached data saved properly or corrupted? Is that why it's trying to reload and failing. I don't want to delete my local cache, but...
Well we now have a fuselage, but some wings and landing gear would be helpful! #MSFS2024 servers are not being cooperative this evening!
Meet the Fokker; iniBuilds today made the F27 "Friendship" in the Lelystad Aviodrome virtually airworthy again, as a new #msfs2024 Local Legend, basing the model on this very airframe. We take it for a test flight at FL180 to Schiphol, via Groningen; all well until the CTD & "naked reload". Hmm..
The final leg of this Netherlands slow and low tour takes us from Rotterdam back to Lelystad via Utrecht and Amsterdam. #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
From Texel, we head south to Rotterdam down the Dutch coast, exploring some of the locations updated in today's city update including The Hague and Rotterdam. #MSFS2024 #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
Whilst virtually at Lelystad, I flew virtually in the Flying Fries Gabriel, a serendipitous choice, as I saw this plane's #MSFS2024 developer being interviewed on a live stream (in the KLM B747-200 in pic 2!). First leg was from Lelystad to Texel of the Dutch NE coast. #Flightsim #Aviation #AVGeek
