Hey, game developer mates!
Very specific request, please!
I am looking to know alongside am open to speak with game developers that were/are based in India, and were living/based in India from early pandemic, quarantine, and lockdowns until now!
If you or know anybody that fits—please, reach out!
Also, throwing in that your FTEs have, at least some amount of the time been paid up to a week late? NOT A FLEX!!
Game devs, plz tell me how "pausing the game" works in your game? Is it weird? Is it simple? Is it janky?
I'm curious how such a common feature--the ability to pause and check your settings, etc--actually works & what happens when players hit pause!

My team has just posted a fairly unique design role: careers.blizzard.com/global/en/jo...
If you meet the qualifications and are interested but have questions, feel free to reach out and I'll answer what I can
Hard to trust he is going to do it, until he is there doing it at this point.
The cold water part really isn't that bad, not gonna lie. And the non powered ones are cheap enough that you can figure out how much you actually prefer it and if you want to go big for the upgrade.
Damn, it's crizappy!
Ah yes, "restore" by putting, definitionally things that aren't there currently there regardless of the original version.
We are going to be doing some more hiring for contract roles at ArenaNet very soon. I will hit you up on LinkedIn and if it is something you are interested in when it comes up, I can give you more details. Good luck regardless.
I can get codes for Guild Wars 1 or 2.
There is quite literally no accountability for folks in those roles, because their power insulates them entirely. Even if they get kicked off a board, which they probably won't, they just find another one. I'd love to see more public disclosure of what went wrong, but I don't expect to see it
This is a thing I've been noodling on for a bit now. I don't think, in capitalism, there is ever going to be a satisfying answer, honestly. But, I think there is a space here for collective/communal shame or, if not shame exactly, signaling. Ego hits need to be normalized.
We've built a new custom MLS table, with sortable data for the Supporters' Shield and both conferences, as well as expected goals and expected points data from @americansocceranalysis.com.

Game Dev Heroes nominations are still open -- would love to see some unsung heroes and quiet folks doing the work get recognized for their efforts. Get in there and tell them about your people! gamedevheroes.co/nominations/

Since I have gathered some rad new fellow game dev followers, I’m excited to share that we have a rare Associate World Artist position that just opened up on the WoW team! If you or anyone you know would be a great fit for this entry level position, apply here! careers.blizzard.com/global/en/jo...
I think you have more connections than I do, but I am happy to help any way I can.
Not for nothing, why would anyone be obliged to include or allow things that they think are harmful? E.g. a publisher has no obligation to say that they are some sort of 1st amendment absolutists, either. Fucking business people want it both ways. If your tech is so good, win in the market.
They also don't believe in the concept of something that was created by anyone else. Their whole deal is that they want everything to be exactly what they thought it should be and AI lets them indulge their most solipsistic fantasies about the world.
This bundle is not only a super good bundle, but supporting it will help us help Black indie game devs with marketing support, event support, and ultimately dev funds.
But I will suggest you adjust the default amount to better support charity.

Hello! My name is Alexia and I'm a community and merch manager @gdocexpo.com as well as a designer and indie dev working on my first tabletop game! This was only my second GDC, but was really reaffirming for me and my goals. We are not alone in this industry and that matters. #WhatAGameDevLooksLike
Not gonna lie, every month is a good month to read your work. Brilliant and well written. Thanks for what you do!
I am so excited to announce the First America Indigenous Futures Writing Workshop Series as part of a project I’ve been working on for the past year. Please share with any Indigenous youth that you know!

I'd certainly be interested, but I'm also well aware that just kind of knowing some of the same people in the industry is far from being mutuals, so either way.
Wise words, probably hard earned. Thanks. Will keep that in mind if/when I see things.
Came here to ask the same. What state are you in and where are you able to work in person?

Calling all South Asian gamedevs! I'm hosting another South Asian Gamedev Meetup at #GDC26 with @ekanaut.bsky.social. Wednesday, 1 PM at the Waterfall. Come through, meet fellow devs, make lifelong friends, what have you. Turns out there are DOZENS of us.
See you soon!
Oh for those halcyon days!
Agree 100%. We shouldn't expect any model to prevent high profile flops or failures, but we need one that doesn't immediately end studios when things aren't run away successes.
