A friend had a punching cabinet located directly above the light switch in their bathroom. I lost a lot of good knuckle skin to that thing before they moved it to another wall. Seems like you had the same interior designer!

Dunno what killed all these guys but they wouldn’t want me to leave their very important orb just sitting there, I’m sure of it.

I, uh, didn’t know they grew like this. 😳

A lot of the food they offer would otherwise be made into products like salsa or applesauce where you can’t see the defects, and some would be sent to food banks. It’s a clever idea, but only if it’s truly food that wouldn’t otherwise be used, and it seems like that’s not the case.

Our semi-feral cat friends are interested in whatever I’m interested in, and today it was a sleepy bee who needed a snack. The bee flew off safely shortly after! 🤣🤦‍♀️

Sounds similar to what I call a Frown Prince, and I’m also very susceptible to them.

Our shelter gives you a discount if you adopt two kittens together. We adopted one we were fostering and paid full price, and when we adopted another a few weeks later, they just charged us what was left of the two kitten special price.

So now I’ve got a full price cat and a discount cat! 🤣

Waffles knows that bags are for Going, and she hates Going. Luckily, she also knows that the best way to prevent Going is to sit on or in the bag at all times!

Today’s yard sightings included not one but TWO DeKay’s brown snakes! I’m always excited to see a snake, and two is just an abundance of riches.

We trimmed some branches today and our feral cats are having a great time chasing each other through them on the ground. This is Braver, the friendliest of the three!

In 2013 I read somebody’s brand new book on how to write fiction, and they recommended using Ask Jeeves to solve research questions. I had to imagine them locked away in their writing room, unaware of the changes happening in the outside world, still relying on Jeeves to make things make sense.

I recently started following you on Bluesky and then my local library emailed and suggested I might want to meet you in person, which was an interesting, if slightly surreal, experience. Fingers crossed I feel well enough to attend your talk next month!

I tried essentially this with a neighborhood cat who wants to fight the feral cats I care for. I was sure it would be so startling that it would deter him for potentially days. He didn’t even flinch! 🤣🤦‍♀️

Me: When you’re here on Tuesday, will you be doing A, or will you be doing B, which is the opposite of A? It’s important to me so I can prepare.

Them: Thanks for reaching out, yes, we will be there on Tuesday!

Oh crap, I just realized the treasure cave in my novel doesn’t have any skeletons in it! In my defense I think my main character’s grandma probably would’ve had those removed when she was doing the remodel?

Do you think that’ll help with my book also, or do I need to use my own brain?

As someone who at 13 was confused about why medical staff asked if I wanted to wait for my mother before doing a spinal tap, thank you for being someone your son misses. It heals something in me every time I see something like this. ❤️

Now seems like a fine time to introduce folks to a holiday I invented a couple of years ago called Monday Again.

The important thing about Monday Again is that it isn’t a complaint or a celebration, merely a statement of temporal fact.

It’s Monday Again!

I haven’t been, but on some other social media, if I share a thing, I can tell whether the folks who follow me liked the thing. If I repost here, I don’t have that info, so I can’t tell if folks are really into or couldn’t care less about the person or art I’m hoping they’ll be excited about.

As a beginning artist who is unable to visualize, thanks for this. If I don’t use references I’m just staring at an empty black space inside my head and hoping my hand knows what a koala looks like (spoiler alert, it doesn’t).

We went to the shelter to comfort but not adopt a rumpled, sad old cat we’d seen online while looking for a friend’s lost cat.

He walked to the front of the cage and pressed his forehead directly to my husband’s forehead, started purring, and wouldn’t move. We took him home.

Our first cat, who spent some time on the street, did this enough that for years her water bowl had to be in the bathtub.

Now the feral outdoor cats we care for use their heated water dish as a hot tub to warm their feet, which I’m sure won’t carry over to indoor behavior if they find homes. 🤣🤦‍♀️

Ah, sorry, that’s for me. I’m always working on six projects and I’m really slow, so having the thing from two months ago pop up again after I’ve been thinking about it and stuff has been percolating is often exactly what’s needed to solve the problem that stopped me last time.
