I also feel that this is.. uh.. don't get me wrong I love TADC, but it's success in the mainstream is because the characters are so goddamn marketable to kids. nobody was expecting episodes like episode 6 or 8 when we were watching them chase gloinks in episode 1. but the corpos lept at it.

I got a bit sarcastic in the middle there, I know why they make all the merch they do (heck, I've dropped more money than I'd like on merch for indie shows) I just don't get it, what are they chasing? having to listen to studios? indie's strength is the 'independant' part.

the future they're pursuing only ends with every indie project being turned into the minions or getting zero support because it's not marketable and for those that haven't been ruined by the free market's hungry stare nothing will have changed.

they want the "industry" to change the way it views indie animation? who gives a shit how the industry views it, the industry thinks shitting out 20 marvel movies a year is a good idea. doesn't glitch make enough money turning every background character into 40 bits of merch for every show yet?

I'm glad for them, but i mean.. this opens the doors for what? I'm not going to go watch episodes of "The adventures of speembo" at the theater every week. having the risk of the finales of every indie show I watch going forward potentially being spoiled because of this is a turn off too.
