Whoop! Today marks the 25th anniversary of the return of Kernow’s national bird - the Chough. Since its return, Cornish people and their language have been recognised and protected, and in the 2021 Census 100,000 people recorded their national identity as Cornish. Nyns yw marow Myghtern Arthur!

This month societies will consider churches, ancient sites, medieval crosses, WW2, saints, working boats, emigration, war graves, taverns, War of the 5 Nations, Prayer Book Rebellion, china clay, Cornish wrestling, Caradon mining, railways, traditions, Daphne Du Maurier, St Austell Bay and more
