🐰For over 20 years now, our famous MassSpec Easter Bunny makes a special visit to @mpicbg, spreading joy and sharing sweets with our colleagues in the neighbouring labs. So lovely to see two beautiful assistants, PhD student Viditha and postdoc Silvia, helping The Bunny to carry out the mission.
🤖Our proteomics team visiting Waters GmbH lab in Eschborn. We tested robotic liquid handling station Andrew+ and brought home The Legendary Andrew Socks.🧦 Many thanks to Dr. Tobias for perfectly organized demo!
What do Phe, HbA1C, C6H12O6 and pTau mean and have in common? Introduction at Friday seminar @mpi-cbg.de made by Andrej is always entertaining! Hint: this time it's about mass spec and diseases diagnostics. And if you know the answer you get an extra 🍺 for the MPI Meet-the-Speaker beer session😉
Fantastic talk "Proteome-wide Absolute Quantification of Biofluids" from our PhD student Viditha Rao on Friday Seminar @mpi-cbg.de! Development of a new ms-base method and its application in molecular diagnostic of neurodegenerative diseases - it's a very strong research work. Congratulation!
Proudly open our freshly printed chapter "Laser Capture Microdissection for Quant Shotgun Lipidomics" @springernature.com. The best #lipidomics protocols we developed & optimized over years in collaboration with SciComp group @mpi-cbg.de - cudos to Silvia Radrezza!

Happy to present the latest results of our omics projects @dgms2025.bsky.social conference in Leipzig. On the digital poster session, our colleagues Silvia and Ignacy talked about quality control in shotgun lipidomics and absolute quantification in ms-based clinical proteomics. Stay tuned!
😮An innovative poster session was introduced @dgms2025.bsky.social conference in Leipzig. Printed posters were replaced by 3-min flash presentation and digital display. Hmm... Not only our PhD student Viditha is surprised and concerned about unconventional form🤨
🏅Sport meets Mass Spectrometry in Leipzig! This week we are @dgms2025.bsky.social conference in historical rooms of Leipzig University's Sportwissenschaftliche Fakultaet. It's still quiet in the early morning, but that will soon change. Looking forward for the days full of science!
We say goodbye to our colleague Dr. Vannur @garikapativs.bsky.social who is leaving the lab to start a new chapter in his scientific career. It was great to meet up with families and friends, and try delicious south Indian food! Good luck and keep in touch with your lab!
Our visit to High Throughput Proteomics Facility at Charite Berlin is the absolute highlight of this week! We looked at Beckman Biomek robotic station and learnt how much automation of lab routine changes research. Will bring this experience @mpi-cbg.de!
Big thanks to the hosts Michael and Manuela
LiSyM Status Seminar-2026 is hold right now in Dresden! We are happy to share our latest results in liver #lipidomics and #proteomics with colleagues @mpi-cbg.de and other researches from Liver System Medicine Consortium @lisymcancer.bsky.social. Together we are a very strong team!💪
Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Vannur Garikapati on new step in career development! Following successful postdoctoral research in lipidomics @mpi-cbg.de he'll be building new mass spectrometry Facility at the Medical School Uni Bielefeld. We are very proud of you, Vannur! Stay in touch❤️
2026 marks the 25th Anniversary of @mpi-cbg.de in Dresden. We invite all Alumni to reconnect and celebrate 25 years of science together August 24-25. Sign up, if you would like to receive further updates, formal registration will follow: www.mpi-cbg.de/25th-anniver...
Our chapter "Laser Capture Microdissection for Quantitative Shotgun Lipidomics" is out in Methods in Molecular Biology @springernature.com ! We're delighted to share expertise and protocols in lipid analysis by mass spectrometry @mpi-cbg.de with the broad scientific community.
📣 Attention PhD students and postdocs in #massspec and #omics! The tradition-rich Mass Spectrometry Summer School in Dubrovnik (Croatia), on the Adriatic coast will take place 5-10 July. Fantastic tutors' team!

Infographic titled “Snowflakes: Classifications & Shapes” showing how snowflakes are categorized by crystal form. Sections illustrate column crystals, plane crystals, combinations of column and plane crystals, rimed snow crystals, aggregation, germs of ice crystals, irregular particles, and other solid precipitation. Each category uses simple blue icons with codes (e.g., C1, P3). A key explains three classification levels: 8 general, 39 intermediate, and 121 elementary categories, highlighting the wide variety of snowflake shapes found in nature.
Getting snow where you are? Did you know that there are 121 categories of snowflake? ❄️
This graphic is an old favourite which gives an overview of the 39 intermediate categories: www.compoundchem.com/2014/12/10/s... 🧪
Snowy day @mpi-cbg.de and @csbdresden.bsky.social. ❄️❄️❄️
🎆 What a great way to end the turbulent scientific year!!! Congratulations to @merihuchlab.bsky.social and all co-authors on their outstanding work @nature.com. We are happy to be a part of the team!
Researchers from @merihuchlab.bsky.social, together with colleagues from @labshevchenko.bsky.social and clinicians from Dresden and Leipzig developed a patient-specific human periportal liver assembloid. Publication in @nature.com. Full news: www.mpi-cbg.de/news-outreac...
