congrats on the self-discovery! you've taken some big steps forward, no mean feat. wherever you are, wherever you feel like being, wherever you want to be--there's a place for you there. whether blue, white, or pink, it's always good to have another stripe in the flag <3

nothing gives joy like seeing a bunch of notifs and it's just a single person demolishing through your posts. i will never be caught complaining about this bc how can you be upset when you're the reason someone is having a great time. you've become a metaphorical gold mine to someone in this moment

customer service as a gender nonconforming person can be… interesting

A four-panel comic titled "Little Piles: spelling" by Jessica Wayde. You can subscribe to these comics on Instagram, @littlepilescomic.
Frame 1: Two adults sitting in adirondack chairs in a backyard, looking into the distance. The non-binary adult, Linzi, listens with interest as Jess, the woman in the other chair, speaks.
Jess: "The best part of 'Roofman' is how the dude's name is 'Jeffrey' (ending in R-E-Y) but everyone keeps spelling it 'Jeffery' (ending in E-R-Y)."
Frame 2: A female news anchor is looking into the camera, accompanied by a headshot of a harried-looking man in a goatee that is labelled Jeffery (ending in E-R-Y) Manchester.
Jess (offscreen): "There are so many ways to spell the name, any given Jeff has seen them all. J-E-F-F-E-R-I-E, G-E-O-F-F-R-E-Y, J-E-F-F-E-R-E-Y. It happens to a lot of names, of course, especially ones with multiple spellings."
News anchor: "in an update to the week-long manhunt..."
Frame 3: Jess as a child stands, embarrassed and grimacing, in front of a school blackboard that is has "Welcome Jeff-E-R-Y" written on it in bright chalk colors.
Jess (offscreen): "But when you already didn't like your first name, having it get misspelled felt worse, somehow. Like another example of why it didn't belong with you."
Frame 4: Back in the backyard, we see what Linzi and Jess have been watching from their chairs: a gorgeous sunset. Jess has her hand sitting on Linzi's armrest, and Linzi has laid their hand on top.
Linzi: "And you'll never have to deal with that again."
Jess: "Thank Christ."

Fun fact: Portland has the most beautiful sunsets according to a study conducted by my spouse and I in our backyard. We like to watch the bats flutter around during summer evenings.

immense psychic damage was inflicted upon us. the rest of the world, too, but us especially. i'd never needed to take a break from work to cry before last tuesday. my hands were shaking, students and coworkers noticed... i think that day shaved two years off my life

A 6 panel doodle comic (with panels this time) featuring myself and the transfemme sprite character

1 - the sprite is “smoking” a bubble pipe while reading a book

2 - she turns her head as a voice says “hey I’m back”

3 - “how’s it go with your therapist?” “Well uh. It was unexpected, but. He uh.”

4 - actually really supported it. And I should keep exploring this, see where it takes me. I wouldn’t even be the only MTF client he’s worked with before”

5 - the two characters stare at each other with folded hands

6 - the sprite has shades on and throwing up her hands, while I’m in a dress and long hair pumping a fist. There’s a giant trans flag in the background with text around reading “I WASNT JUST MAKING IT UP” “ITS REAL SHIT” “NOT JUST IN MY HEAD” “[DARIDE SANDSTORM INTENSIFIES]”

Day 13 of accepting that… I /am/ trans? 🏳️‍⚧️

I saw my regular therapist today after weeks of stewing on all this, and got the chance to really talk about all this gender identity confusion I’ve been on.

And it went surprisingly well! Encouraging even! Kinda surprising actually if I’m honest
