Blues tried it on the Jets last year and all they did was give the next round to Dallas. Jets beat St. Louis but had nothing left in the next round.

The media on both sides of the border keep saying how great the hockey is and I shake my head. It’s reminiscent of the Broad Street Bullies - try to injure the other team’s best players so your team survives to the next round. Great hockey was the era of Howe, Keon, Hull, Richard(s), Béliveau, etc.

🚨 The BBC has found a consistent pattern of spikes in trades and finical markets just hours, or sometimes minutes, before Trump's market-moving statements were made public.

I understand, but I’m happy for him.

Dear NBA,

I KNOW it is all about the money and you don’t care about our convenience, but this having to use 3 different streaming services to watch playoff games each night is, (and I say this with all the love I can for the game,) complete horseshit.

There are certainly tiers. But we get lots of coverage when there’s a pot to be stirred - like four web site stories about Helle saying changes are needed.

To be honest they see Toronto and very little beyond. A bit of Edmonton because of McDavid.

A commentator on a TSN show predicted an Ottawa win because they have the three true stars in the series: Tkaczuk, Sanderson and Stutzle.

From Carolina’s perspective, it is a good way of getting him out of the game for a while. And he is the guy who drives Ottawa’s bus.

But it is a good way of getting Bully Boy out of the game for a while.

Similar to Jets-Blues last year. Jets were able to squeak out a win but it left them unable to take Dallas in round two. Thankfully, it looks like Canes were ready.

I’m glad to see the Canes were ready.

Galley giving excuses for an Ottawa penalty.

Cheerleader. Get a bias-free commentator. That’s right. Sportsnet doesn’t have any.

Ottawa may be a team in a Canadian city but I cannot cheer for a Tkaczuk. So I hope Nik Ehlers and the Canes win.

Reporter never met a pot he did like to stir.

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars

The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.

Why aren't we doing this?

Good luck, Canes fans. I’ll be cheering for Nik from Winnipeg! (But I like the Habs too)

Great column as always, Jack. Here’s hoping you’re right because Tampa’s rather ugly and they had a couple players on the Canadian Olympic team who should not have been there.

Is there a bigger tool in the NHL than Stone? Real brave, suckering guys that are caught up in a scrum.

The Habs are a good young club that could surprise someone. The Sens? I can’t cheer for a Tkaczuk. But I can’t see them getting past round one.

Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October.

Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year.

Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce.

Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.
