Sorry to hear about Japan. Not sure what kind of insulin you're on, but if it's pens you can get a cooling pen case: friouk.com/shop/
Also no problem with scanners - I've gone through them many times until I realised I should've asked for pat down instead ๐

May the rest of your days be filled with only biscuits. Glorious news.
Stick live tracking on consultants so you know when they're coming for the rounds. ๐
Good you're feeling better. It's always best to just give yourself over to 'hospital time'. You can't fight it! Keep on going ๐ช
It's so transformative!! Now please put some service designers in with clinicians to design a patient's day in hospital with the goal of improving rest and sleep (mainly pls stop people coming in from 6am to change different bins one bin at a time!!)
Ah, this is rubbish. I hope they get on top of things soon.
Oh mate. That's rough. Wishing you the best and hope it all eases up and improves soon ๐
Hallo! I have finally got my bum in gear and posted the next upcoming One Team Gov meetups, both in-person (London) and virtual, if you want to sign up you can do so on the link below and please RT! www.linkedin.com/posts/onetea...
Sorry to hear this. That's all properly rubbish. I am glad you're in good hands and being taken care of. ๐งก
I would really like to do some user research on the 2 mins 10 seconds of pre amble when I try to call my GP telling me about flu vaccines, child nasal flu vaccines, COVID symptoms, and what time I can ring for things. What does *any* of this achieve?
Yeah, fair. Definitely agree about the sense it's sequential. But that's not always very problematic (?) - it is however far more effective to think of it as mutualistic loops (definitely going to use that phrase in future!).
In my experience (legislative) deadlines were a massive driver to introduce this. I also think perhaps I don't understand the service manual because I don't really understand how dual track opposes it - you still have to test, measure and iterate! ๐
A learning I had with introducing this to a team was that discovery often takes longer and can create a bottleneck for delivery; so I introduced some sense checking based on risk to just ship+test rather than disco for everything.
Last week I had to go to the GP to fill in my name, address, phone no., email and NHS no., on a paper form and then hand it to the receptionist for her to verify from The System. She stamped it and handed it back to me and then I posted it to another bit of the NHS. This... Doesn't need to exist.
We're looking to fill a couple of Senior Content Designer roles across the OPG and Probation digital teams www.jobtrain.co.uk/justicedigit...
I guarantee you're not missing out on honey (or marmalade if that's your preference?)
Obviously that is infuriating, but there really isn't much once you do log in.
Have you considered the compromise (and imho the right solution): the pasta bowl?
There's still time. ๐ฌ #SixNations

As a user I need to know if my clinic permanently changes location so that I can attend my appointments.
Thank you for setting it up!

The Roadmap for Modern Digital Government has a commitment that GDS works with #localgov to co-create a vision including shared products and components of a technology stack.

Probs a day for tea and seed sorting and tentatively stepping into the garden and reconquering the veg beds from the squirrels and their hidden nuts. Gardening has helped my sometimes-a-bit-anxious-and-sad brain rethink January and reimagine it for all the possibilities of the coming growing year.
Thanks for your session about the list of services. I'm going to keep it in mind and mention it to a few people as and when I can.
A selfie of a person with short hair and glasses and a dark grey coat in front of Birmingham City Hall
Totally exhausted from a v early start and train shenanigans but thank you as always to the campmakers, organisers and our wonderful hosts at Birmingham City Council. See y'all next year! #ukgc26
Lots of good conversations as always at #ukgc26. Some takeaways:
- hypothesis-driven practice Inc 'vibe coding' needs an acceptance it might fail
- thinking about spaces to discuss failure that include #localgov
- product jobs are never the same
- still many barriers to data sharing
