All the time! When I really get in the flow, & I'm not over-thinking it, the characters will go off in their own directions, & little details will surface, things I never could have outlined or planned beforehand. It's like sitting down & talking to the characters, rather than writing their story.

I knew that history and all that Monah didn't know would be the foundation of this first book. It sort of built up and around her as the book progressed. I'm a pantser who has an idea where it will all go, which keeps things open so the characters and progression of plot often surprise me.
