Finished filling the new hexagonal raised bed with dirt, then planted the New England aster seed tapes on 3 sides, 2 soap wraps (wildflower seed- impregnated), and dill, basil and rosemary in the front.
We'll see how we go.

2nd attempt at sprouting Oregon Spring tomatoes is working. They are short and healthy looking.
I also made seed tapes today, mainly for the asters, the upcoming carrots and broccoli.
Still want to go and buy more veggies since my seed starts have been so disappointing this year.

Got out in the garden and reinforced the hexagonal garden bed with some bricks internally. Pried up a round stepping stone and moved it. Put sticks in the base for drainage and started filling with dirt. I'll be planting New England asters in the bed along with herbs.

#urbansketching Found an old picture I took probably 20 yrs ago of some heaved up bricks on a cobbled street in Fayette or Columbia, MO.
Tomorrow the bricks arrive, and sidewalk building will commence.
Grandsons, housemate & I got out and ripped out the ugly plastic edging along the garden path & loosened the soil.
@aravine.bsky.social and I exchanged Mother's/Father's Day gifts early: I got 600 bricks and 100# of sand. He got a vacuum cleaner.
You can bet we're wacky fun on a Saturday night.

My blueberry bush is in the ground. The hosta from last year is putting out new leaves. I transferred sodden slimy dirt from waterlogged pots to the base of the new deck footings. Also fertilized & turned the dirt in 2 raised beds.
