#History #Arthistory #Conservation #HE friends I'm trying to help a very talented & wonderful student find funding for an MA in Art Conservation, she's been offered the place but needs additional funding to be able to go. Any #scholarships or #grants people can suggest would be amazing. TIA ❤️

The Vagina Museum is just one month away from closing. Forever. A perfect storm of circumstances means that we may have to close our doors permanently and cease all digital activities. But we're not going to go down without a fight. Save the Vagina Museum. www.gofundme.com/f/btscc2
National Trust membership for a family costs £14.05 a month. A Telegraph subscription costs £104 a month. And don’t get me started on the quality of the product.

I'm really looking forward to seeing @lucyworsley.bsky.social 's new programme about #MaryI to which I contributed in a small way. I've never seen myself on TV and I have a feeling I'll be so self-conscious I'll be hiding behind the sofa...It airs on 24 January.

Today's top pick is all about signage & wayfinding! In a previous life, I looked after S&W for a huge museum & so I probably pay a weird amount of attention to it when we're out & about.
This year, I particularly loved this floor signage in the lift at the #Waterford Treasures: Medieval Museum!
@jesmyth.co.uk, I think you'll enjoy this one 😊
@shelleystamp.bsky.social and Lois Weber get a shout-out as well, of course!

Now, onto my top #ruins of the year! Popped to #Pontefract a few weeks ago and stumbled across the beautiful All Saints Church, a 1960s church snuggled in the ruins of a 14th/15th century church destroyed during the civil wars. Absolutely beautiful 😍

It allowed visitors to make informed choices around viewing mummified people and openly addressed current debates clearly and displayed some truly stunning pieces of ancient Egyptian art.
Our best surprise visit of the year was undoubtedly seeing the "Displaced: From the Nile to the Derwent" exhibition at #Derby Museum & Art Gallery just before it closed. The interpretation was honest, respectful, and thought-provoking.
And this is why we have costumes for both littles and bigs. 😁
