I got one of these emails. Putting me together with the other names in the list — @lukelebrun.ca, @rachelgilmore.bsky.social, @nolore.bsky.social, @ethancox.bsky.social and others — you get a loose mosaic best described as "people who have had some fleeting argument with Jesse recently."
Posts by Ethan Cox
He claims that although he created phishing links on his site, and sent them to Bourrie and numerous accounts on Reddit (the things he got caught doing), he has nothing to do with the email address that sent the same links to journalists.
Coincidentally, the email’s owner sounds exactly like Jesse.
Usually when people criticize me online I either engage directly or ignore them. Must be nice to have time and resources from your own media company to investigate people named"SnotDick69" posting on a ~10k subreddit.
“I think Jesse Brown owes me, and a lot of other people, an apology.”
I’m quoted in this page-turner of a report on the Canadaland phishing scandal.
For the record, I don’t find Jesse’s denial he sent the emails credible. They seem to have been part of the same spy operation he got caught running.

Scoop from @jonthompson.bsky.social today. Is Doug Ford planning to axe elected public school boards in Ontario?

I’m now hearing from southern Ontario that tomorrow is going to bring a sizeable and coordinated media offensive from public education trustees and others who support local education accountability.
Is Doug Ford planning to axe elected public school boards in Ontario?
Critics warn the move would end more than two centuries of local #education governance, with damaging impacts on #Indigenous and other marginalized communities.
