for me too, although the smartphone is just so damned convenient!
Brown, grey, and taupe colours adorn a moth's wings in an intricate pattern that ought to be a fabric. The moth rests on the photographer's fingertip against a red brick wall as background.
Morning after the first moth trap set. The Moth Adrenaline is back!

Great shot! Congratulations!
Smallish butterfly with a dark underside hangs, upside-down, from a small branch. Her thorax is curled toward the branch; she is apparently laying eggs for another brood.

This assessment is correct. Islam is more gracious in its recognition of other religions than most people realise.
If I weren't leaving the UK tomorrow I would attend!
We can do it, too!

What?!!
Explains everything
Close-up of a butterfly with eyespots so large he(*) appears quite alarming! (* I may have the sec wrong here so am using the generic "he." So sue me.) The main colour on the butterfly's wings is a deep rust, but large blue eyespots surrounded by cream and black dominate the pattern of each wing. The butterfly rests on sandy soil, from which he is no doubt sipping some important mineral.
No question as to which image to post for this #Stunday --!
One of my aims for this UK visit was seeing, and getting a photo of, a Peacock. Late Thursday afternoon, just as I was giving up on getting close to this guy (?), he needed a fix of minerals, and I promptly moved in!

I cheated yesterday and went to a butterfly house, but I felt in need of a lepidoptera fix ... and I got it!
Also, it warmed my heart to hear several children rattling off the Latin and common names of species as we trudged through the exhibit

For #ForestFriday here's a photo op that presented itself on a June day in 2024
The Red Admiral's striking blue eyespot on its underside was beautifully set off against the green glow of the forest

Wow. Envious. I think I need to move back here!
That Purple Thorn is amazing! I don't believe we have anything comparable.
